Hi all
So anyway
Are there any plans to inradicate the player citys?
They havent been nothing but trouble! they have taken players out of the major citys and when u go there they are ghost towns apart from the ones that are near POI
Or i feel they should be limited!
What do u guys think

Player cities ARE limited.
They are not allowed too close to major NPC cities, and each planet has a cap.
And with JTL now live, I have seen many players in formerly dying NPC cities, and in parts of NPC cities people didn't ever go to before. In fact, most player cities are now dying as far as I have been able to tell.

I happen to like player cities.
They tend to be much more convenient than npc cities, typically with shops and other usefull buildings in a concentrated area.
The only other option available to merchants is to set up shop around the perimeter or existing cities (creating a loose ring of unafilliated shops about a thousand meters outside npc cities), which is somewhat silly.
Also, player cities typically provide easy access to trainers.
Also, I find it nice to run into neighbors and have brief, pleasant chats.
Finally, I will point out some internal inconsistency inthe starting message: if player cities really have taken a significant number of people out of major cities, then they certainly must not all be ghost towns.
While I have certainly noticed that some player towns tend to be empty, others are thriving.
For example, in the town on Corellia (Wanderhome server) that I call home, namely Darkness Falls, I frequently run into many friends and strangers.

I was also wondering about that one quote, how could player cities both empty the NPC cities but also be ghost towns, logically that just doesnt work. I spend lots of time around a few different player cities, and they almost always have people in them.

You just ignore idiots like this.
They have no idea what they are talking about; often can't see beyond the tip of their nose; and seem to feel that if others are enjoying the game mechanics, then it's somehow their right to try and ruin it for them.
To the original poster, if you don't like the game mechanics, do us all a favour and go away.
For the record, Player Cities have done far, far more for the GCW than a bunch of NPCs standing around a NPC City. Leave us to create the content that you probably whine to your buds about the game missing.

My 2 cents:
So the active city I have built with my guild - 3 months of hardwork so far, should be destroyed?
There are ghost towns and there are active cities...the ghost towns eventually go away, its the natural course.

Hmmm my PC is definetly not a ghost town...with over 100 citizens & well over 80 of them active. There's almost always someone in town..plenty of stocked vendors...a good choice of trainers that are changed to fit our citizen's needs. Just because there isn't a welcoming party at the shuttle when you arrive doesn't mean the city isn't active. We dont' all sit around & wait for visitors...we go enjoy the game & what it has to offer.

A few things here...
With the recent changes made to voting for PC Mayors you will see either more activity in the cities or cities going away because they have less than the required amount of citizens. If their population drops the city starts to get smaller until eventually it goes poof.
Also, the Dev's have said that sometime "soon" theyu will be wiping the homes and structures from cancelled accounts (I belive it's on a limit like has canacelled 6 months ago ) Once those structures go away you will see an affect on many of the "ghost towns".
Player cities were excellent when first implemented. People spent almost all their time there using the mission terminals and bases to advance their characters (this was around publish 6 when mounts were introduced followed by vehicles shortly there after). What killed these cities? I'd say hologrinding had a major effect. People needed to be out in the world to hologrind prof's like doctor or entertainer, there was no time to go to your city as you were spending every in game moment grinding whatever profession you needed.
It seems that things are turning the other direction again. Since the death of the GCW not many cities are placing bases anymore. The successful cities have numerous shops and the all important shuttleport. Cities without these two things will start to shrink and disappear. Or they will just become guild villages where everyone comes to store their stuff and maintain a residence.
I belong to a city of about 20 or so residents, we do not aspire to be a huge metropolis, we just want our quite little town where we can store our stuff, hangout with each other, or just run missions in privacy. I believe these towns will remain as well. The Dev's have set limits on how many cities may exist per planet and have set minimums on the citizen count for the city to exist. Below 10 citizens and the city goes poof.
This system already exists. There is no need for the Dev's to go wiping out player cities as you suggested. If a city is not maintained or funded it will go poof on it's own, no need for heavy handed interventions.
