I had an item in my house that I could not pick up. I have had this before and so I tried the /move up 20 command a few times to try and get to it. It didn't work so I sent in a ticket.
CSR-ArnoldG responds that I this is a common problem and is sorry that I had it and I should try /move up up 20 to unlock it.
I reponded and said that in my original ticket I already stated that I tried /move up 20 and it didn't work.
CSR-DaveK said "As the previous CSR said, you need to use the command /move up up <amount>. For example /move up up 20. Instead of using /move up <amount>"
Granted, this is not as bad as the CSR that said to fix jedi visibility you need a new video card, but anyone who has played the game can tell you /move up up<amt> is not a valid command

I had the same problem and about the only thing I could do to fix the problem was use the house command to move the item to my location. It totally killed my gun collection since the item I wanted was the F ING LAST ITEM IN MY FREAKING HOUSE
. Be nice is we could label the items we want moved to our location but o well .

Csr's in the game are a total joke if they did thier job this badly in any other company they would of been sacked years ago. All they do is copy and paste from the KB.

Actually it is a valid command, and that's a common workaround if doing just "/move up " gives you the error "do /move {up/down} {amt}". I think it has something to do with the game trying to parse the command as "/move {item name} {direction} {amt}". If there's something around you with a name that starts with "up" (like "upholstered chair"), putting in the extra "up" makes it work.
Of course, if the error you were getting was along the lines of "You cannot see/manipulate that object" when you did the /move command, you've got a different problem, and doing two "up"s won't help. There's a bug fix coming in the next few days to straighten that out.

I disagree. I had that problem with some crates of food in my guildhall and the CSR picked them up and moved them to positions where I could "see" them (and pick them up). I guess I just get lucky and get nice Customer Service.

Don't move the item up, move it back, ALONG the floor. I had a friend drop a BUNCH of camp kits in my house once. I had to keep jockeying them around until I could pick them up and destroy them.

so lemme get this straight
you tried:
/move up 20
and the CSR told you:
/move up up 20
then you responded (as well as noted that you said so in the original ticket) that you tried:
/move up 20
so another CSR said, the first response was correct, try:
/move up up 20
sounds to me like you aren't doing the same things 2 different CSRs told you to try

classic case of pebkac (problem exists between keyboard and chair)
/move up up xx is not a valid command under normal circumstances, however there is a bug which causes /move up to sotp working in certain places (talus on naritus server is one of these) whneer /move up isnt working /move up up does work in its place (may be a code addition as a workaround or may simply be the bug means you need the second up, either ay it works)
before oyu accuse csr's of not knowing thier job or not being properly trained try actually listening to them had you actualyl followed the adive you'd bene given thne your problem woudl have bene solved anbd you woudlnt be arrogantly throwing false accuations aourdn in forum posts (makes me wonder if some of the users sohld be trained as well really)

I've had this problem when something else was blocking the item and said I "could not see." Solution is to pick up the item (tent in my case
) or go /prone and try to pick it up that way.
Also heard that JtL patch bugged some stacking items in houses, but they are working to fix as a priority.
Hope this helps.
