Thread: Where are people looting high-end skill tapes?

Hi ya,
I have been watching the Trade Forums on my galaxy and several other galaxies and there have been lots of uber tapes up for sale. I play fairly regularly and go all over the place doing different stuff from hunting Nightsisters to killing Tuskens, doing caves and clearing out pesky Storm Troopers from Imperial Outpost but I have never seen tapes drop. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction, as I would love be able to go after some of this stuff myself (I am more of a do-it-yourself type) instead of having to bid on tapes I want.
Any help would be appretiated.
PS - I am not a camper, more of a hit and run type guy.

I think you'll want to try Nightsisters, notably Elders and Protectors. The problem there is everyone and their dog is camped in the small area where they spawn, and because of that kill stealing and griefing is becoming the norm.

also you could try the Borgle Cave on ?Rori? i think?
Please correct me if im wrong. I do know that it is a POI though

Use to be, I thought it was the mag seals. I also thought they fixed that. I have had great luck the few times I went to the Auukan caves on Talus. Other than that, the Nightsisters are pretty good, but they really don't drop like you would wish. Off a Nightsister you are likely to get crystals, and pikes. Still can be nice loot though. Lastly is Nyax, unless they nerfed him. It's on Correllia, He only spawns at certain times, I think once every two hours. He drops some mad skill tapes.
You might want to try fighting in the Tuskan Fort. With this new patch in, I have heard that the NPC's have been beefed up conciderably. It's worth a look.

Aukuan Caves (talus) These nps are easy, and they seem to drop alot of +3s and up, i have gotten up to +10s from these guys
NIGHTSISTERS!!! These are the king of tape drops, (quality atleast) On average you will get 1 tape per 3-4 buff sessions of hunting.
NS elders drop the +25 tapes, ive only looted 5 of them off elders in about 3 months of hunting, there really rare.
NS also drop exceptional and legendary items.
I looted a 800max exceptional tusken rifle, and recently a guy on my server got a 2200+ max T-21 off a NS.... which he sold for 220million

Thanks for the advice, I will give some of it a try.

My only thought is that the increase on the trade forums could be a result of JTL and people wanting cash for that. Also for a period after release it is also likely that high priced ground game items like this will harder to sell. Has anyone seen a definate increase in loot drops?

No, in fact I feel a DECREASE. Not to mention it is super hard to find spawns of Nightsisters. Dathomir is almost completly empty. I went from Science Outpost last night to the Nightsister Stronghold. It was a clear shot, I didn't get aggroed by anything the whole way!! In fact the only NPC/Animals I saw was 100m out, I actually saw a mob of Siths. That's It so if you feel like killing NS you have to wait for spawns in the stronghold, which really are NOT that good at all. Its the lower end mobs, they are conning white, and blue to me....Solo.

Aukans and faction grinding on bases. in one day i did 10-15 aukan missions and came out with +17 worth of 2handed speed atachments

I looted a few good ones from Nightsister rangers. But many of the Lok mobs drop good ones too.

easy vs. result? Aakuan all the ay. Cake to kill, and in 3 buffsets I walked with 14 attachemnts ranging from +2 to +6, Rifle speed, Melee def, def vs etc. (lots of broken mods too
)
