What is the deal with the YT-1300 Freighter. Can a rebel trained pilot fly one? Or is it, as it seems to be, only flyable by a neutral trained pilot?

Last I checked, and we petitioned it, it is neutral only, and worse part is you cannot fire weapons from cockpit, like you should be able to. And are they STILL missing concussion missles?

I don't know how it is in live yet, but the biggest complaints were it was neutral only, and lack of fire control from cockpit. Please tell me this has changed.

If you are a rebel, you can train as a neutral pilot, and you can declare at space stations to use the ship in PvP, but you won't be able to run rebel missions with it.

havent tried this yet but i noticed that all the pilot skill trees require 0 skill points. Could you possibly master in 2 pilot professions? Rebel and neutral? Prolly not but just wanted to mention it.....

Nope. If you want to switch factions you must first resign from the one you currently belong to. This has nothing to do with ground faction unless switching from Imperial to Rebel. I'm sure it works the same way if you want to switch from Rebel to Imperial, but I really don't know why anybody would do such a thing.

And I think all your pilot XP goes away when you resign, at least it did in Beta about a month ago when I dropped Privateer and went Rebel. I know that Prestige points that are earned after you Master will go away if you drop.

Despite the fact that the YT-1300 was used on ONE rebel mission, this ship is, and should stay,a neutral/hutt factioned flier. Han Solo was not technically part of the Alliance until just before the destruction of the deathstar...and even then he was going to leave that mission to the x-wings and such.

Facts to Know:
1. Superman's only weakness is Kryptonite. Jack Bauer laughs at Superman for having a weakness.
2. When Jack Bauer goes to the airport and the metal detector doesn't go off, security gives him a gun.
3. If Jack Bauer saw a terrorist reaching for a bomb to blow himself up, Jack would shoot the bomb first. Nobody steals a kill from Jack Bauer.

I'm not sure how you can say it was used on only ONE rebel mission since it was involved with the destruction of the Death Star twice, even though the last minute decision on the first destruction you mentioned is correct. Anyway, I would think that even the Alliance would have need of freighter and transport type vehicles other than capital class vessels.

That being said, the biggest reason I questioned it was because stratics has it listed as an any faction vehicle yet it only shows for the neutral.

Anyway, thanks for all the responses and input! Safe journeys to you all!
