Havent been playing swg for a while, but have now started playing again.My question is, where have all the players gone.

So few people online, or have people abandon the game?

Just before JTL they upgraded the servers so more people can be online at the same time. Because of that, most servers that were at medium or heavy now only show up as light or medium. And since JTL, more than a few people spend their lives in space. (As will I soon now amazon.co.uk has sent my copies my way.)

Is sad but unfortunately true... MANY have left. I have lost nearly half of my in-game friends within the past 3 months.

This happens in all MMO's. Some players gobut get replaced bynew members. When looked at the subscribers as a graph there is always a peak of new members (or old members resubscribing) when an expansion comes out and then the numbers dwindle down again. As long as the average number of subscribers doesn't go down drasticly thena game is long from dead. (I played UO for six years.)

(hint: look up 'churn rate' on your favorite search engine.)
