Thread: Solution for missing logout button (little star icon on toolbar)

Hi,
I noticed since some time a few people's logout button on the toolbar went poof (the little star icon). Today, I found out by coincidence how to fix that.
You probably noticed the horizontal and vertical lines on the rightened side of the toolbar (if the toolbar is horizontal), click with right mouse button on it and click on the option that shows up ("make button bar horizontal/vertical"). Now the star icon should be back. Hope I helped someone with that.

Its not that it went poof, its that the toolbar was shifted to the right a bit and the exit button is actually off-screen. Simply drag the toolbar to the left a tiny bit.

Dragging it over doesn't make it come back for me. I also had to use "make toolbar vertical" right-click command to get the logout button back.

My star button is gone too. I have expereince a bug that ocassionly when I move my cursor over the tool bar, all of the icons disappear, although the frame for the buttons is still present, and the star button appears in the left most position in the bar. Once it happens I have to log out to get the buttons back.

That's actually when the line splits into two lines and displays the second one, the first line does a runner.
You should be able to drag a bit and maybe do the right click twice (set vertical and then back horizontal) and it should fix it, at least itholds now for me on TC, not sure if that patch has gone through yet.

Yeah, its more like a disconnect or hard exit rather than /logout. There is not a 30 second timer and you don't have to be siting to use it, but I believe you are in the world longer. But sometimes,it can be usefull.

Hmm, I'd never seen my Icon go away. Of course I'd never needed it since I just hit Shift+Esc to do the same thing. Sometimes I have to hit it twice.

I FINALLY discovered that the right-click-make-bar-horizontal thing brought the logout button back the other day. Very useful tip, since I know it had been driving me nuts. I have 6 characters on 2 servers, and only some of them had the problem. Some had the * icon missing, some had it moved off-screen, and some had no problem at all. I never really USE it (I just alt-cntl-del and shut the client down), but it drove me batty that it wasn't there. I do use to switch between characters on the same acct tho.

I don't think I've ever used that, I've always just used /quit.
