hi all,

was wondering if you could tell me the current benefits of these, and how you identify them? I joined after pre-nerf, sadly.

thanks

Wow jeez, you joined way after me, and yet your post count is higher. I must have a -1 trolling tape stuck in my armor somewhere...

Anyway, the way to ID these is to examine the item. If Pre-nerf, it will not have a condition listed. If nerfed, I believe they start at 1000/1000 condition. Lack of a condition meter is the key.

Also, look out for pre-nerf Mabari belts. They have the same lack of condition, and thereby, usefulness.

And the benefit? It allows you to put valuable CA's (not AA's) into the shirt or belt without ever having to worry about them degrading to the point where they won't function.

yes they can be worn unde comp armor and... im not sure if its AA's or CA's but before they nerfed the shirts it use to be AA's but now it might be CA's so if you have a prenerfed shirt you might be able to put AA's in it still...

It is only CA's. I posted elsewhere (and earlier!) that they could take AA's, but after experimenting myself, i found the ubese shirt or mabari belt won't accept AA's.

It's called an Ubese Armor shirt, and that's what throws ppl off thinking they can put AA's into them.

And yes, the ubese undershirt can go under armor. Mabari belts can be worn with a full set or armor, but you can only wear a belt OR a personal shield generator.

So, put the CA's you'll want to use in PvP in an Ubese undershirt, so it's always usable. If you're running out of sockets, put your PvE tapes in a belt, cuz you prolly won't use a PSG during PvE combat.

The ubese shirts take CA's, the mabari belts take AA's.

Prior to the nerf they took AA's which was more valuable

After the nerf Ca's only - but any aa's are still good if you had them in the shirts - like my +10 2 handed accuarcy <wipes brow>Whew!

clothing condition doesn't matter, CA's continue to function even if the cond drops to 0. But obviously, for armor to drop to 0 makes it useless

Just a heads up everyone!

For Ubese armor shirts, they don't have any resist or encumberance from the start, so that has no bearing on anything. The only thing that can be considered is that ubese shirts have a light armor rating....which again is not important since they don't have any resistance to damage types and having a light armor rating with no resistinances only beefs up the damage you take when being attacked with an weapon that has a higher armor peircing rating.....for example, with a ubese shirt on, a t21 will do more damage to you than if you have not armor on at all because it's known that the armor peircing of weapons will only give you the added bonus when you attack something or someone with any kind of armor rating.....no armor rating....then the Armor peircing value of the attacking weapon does not come into play.

As for the ubese shirts and anything that does not have a condition rating (pre-nerf or not) and will benefit your character (whether it's SEA's or some other kind of benefit that shouldn't be permanent or forever) they will get converted when the combat upgrade comes out. So just remember that even if you plan to put your most valuable +20 SEA in your ubese shirt, at some point in the future it will get converted and will most likely decay.

Now I don't know this for sure, but reading the new thread by TH on the upcoming combat upgrade leads me to believe that ubese shirts will be converted to have condition.....and maybe, just hopefully they will convert them so that you can still benefit from the SEA's on them while giving the shirts a condition rating....if so, then that just means you will still have your ubese shirt but at some point it will degrade. If any of this is the case, then you can bet the devs will change the fact that you still benefit from SEA's and looted items with enhancementsafter the condition reaches zero.

personally when or if I get into the combat upgrade beta, I will propose that any item that has a zero condition and has SEA's or enhancements on them give no benefit for the category of the SEA or enhancement.....this will make the players seek out more of these items and keep a continuous flow of all those great enhancing items throughout the player base instead of having a group of people who were lucky enough to have pre-nerf items that don't decay while others don't have that benefit.....it only makes it fair to all players and at the same time will drive the prices on SEA's down a bit ultimately improving server economy....I mean let's face it, who would spend 20 million for a +25 SEA knowing full well that it will get destroyed in a few months....then what, your gonna go out and buy another SEA for 20 million.......you'll end up broke in no time.

Just keep in mind people that the combat upgrade will have a massive impact on everything in the game....from combat to how and what crafters will or will need to craft. So don't put too much stock into anything pre-nerf at least until we get the details on how this stuff is or will be affected by the combat upgrade.
