I run multiple monitors. 19" with Radeon 9600pro as my main and a second witha cheapie ATI 16mb video card.

I am fully aware why the game only allows you to run on the main monitor (graphics card capability, etc.)

However, I run the game in windowed mode and wanted to know if there are any tricks or secondary software I can use to allow me to for example place a window of my character stats orplanet mapor whatever else on my secondary monitor?? I understand why windows/the game won't allow you to do this normally, thats why I titled the post "Looking for a creative solution"

If i can leave the game in windowed mode on my main monitor but move certain windows to my secondary monitor it would make things a bit easier. I do run in 1600x1200 already...just looking for even more space

Thanks in advance to any creative solutions.

The closest I have come is to run the game at a custom resolution (edit theoptions.cfg file) which spanned about 1.3 - 1.5 of my dual monitor's width. On my card (GeForce 5900) you have to set the display mode to Span rather than Dualview(not sure how this works on ATI cards) ortrying to drag the window over the monitor "gap" wasblocked as I am sure you have seen.

Then, although my char was off centre it meant I had a whole screen toplay onand had an extra bit of the SWG window to theright where I had my inventory and a few other windows/dialogs. It worked ok but i was not happy with it and now run on just one monitor.

I am not sure this will work in your situation though I am afraid.

My best tip for graphics setup is to take a screenshot of your desktop and work out how high the startbar is (92pixels on mine i think) and run the game in borderless windowed mode at a custom res which is monitor width and [monitor hight - SB Height]. In this way you get all the benefits of windowed mode but the window size of full screen. It's cool

NB: If you edit the options.cfg file and then go back into game options it resets the res to a "game allowed" one, I keep a backup of it now.

Check this out:

Facts to Know:
1. Superman's only weakness is Kryptonite. Jack Bauer laughs at Superman for having a weakness.
2. When Jack Bauer goes to the airport and the metal detector doesn't go off, security gives him a gun.
3. If Jack Bauer saw a terrorist reaching for a bomb to blow himself up, Jack would shoot the bomb first. Nobody steals a kill from Jack Bauer.

Do you use this program for the purpose of what I described?

I ask because it seems to me that this would only allow an extra PC act as a dual monitor accross TCP/IP. I had a similar program that allowed me to use my daughter's monitor as part of my desktop, and allows me to put some on screen programs on it, but thats bascially the same as my dual monitor setup

Am I missing something? Thanks for the info BTW.

I browse the forums (observe), and use the SWG Maps site on my second monitor.
