Thread: Suggestion for Building Status E-mails

Currentlyextractors and factoriesonly send E-mails when they take damage, are destroyed or, in the case of factories, stop production for some reason.Couldn't it be set up so you get an E-mail when the building drops to a certain ammount of maintence? I would LOVE to see a new radial option for buildings that lists options for what to recieve E-mails for. For example, a resource extractor could have a radial option that opens a window with checkboxes for the following:

Notify by E-mail for

  • Maintence falls below [User input number]

  • Power falls below [User input number]

  • Hopper is Full

  • Resource Shift

  • Takes Damage

  • Is Destroyed

I want to KNOW when I need to run to my extractor to put more power or maintence on it, or empty it, or move it after a resource shift.

Love the idea. /sign

I'd like to take it a step further, though. Why not have a waypoint enclosed in each e-mail sent from a installation? It would make things oh-so-much easier. Maybe even set the waypoint's name to the name of the harvester or factory.

I've always thought they should add a warning when your harvesters run out of power, or run low on maintenance, or stop mining due to resource shift. Sometimes you can't remember where you placed the pesky things. Same with houses, there should be an email telling you that your maintenance is running out, and not waiting until your house is halway destroyed.

Or how about an option to tell it to send you a Status Report every [x] hours so you can gear how many reports you get around how much power and money you put on at once? That might be eaiser to code. You cuold even have tickboxes offering what you want to know - current hopper contents, maintenance, power, current resources available(Great for resource spawn shift!)

Yeah?

Great additional ideas. Even being able to get a Daily Report would be awsome. I can't count how many harvesters I lost because I didn't get an e-mail till I logged in late one day and I get an e-mail saying it sustained XX% dammage, run to it and go... um I don't have enough to FIX it, even though I would have had enough to pay for more maint.

I thought the fun part was searching out the best spots to put your harvesters and finding creative non-combat ways to deal with the creatures that insist on calling your harvester home and setteling down right next to it.

Actually JTL broke the factory "I'm done" emails so they don't even send those anymore.
