The only way I can see Coruscant as a viable place to visit is with instanced adventures - like the Corvette. They could do that I think.

What about when the entire planet gets rented out though? It's a good idea, but those servers can only hold so much data in one place. It would be cool to make it a fly-over planet where you can use your starship right above the surface (or just give us multi-purpose vehicles and throw in Mon Calamari as well)

Even though that is all a great idea, the lag would kill most slower computers.

I love the concept. Coruscant would provide a style of interiorlocations that would revolutionize SWG's interior settings. Suddenly, you've got interiors that have dozens of floors or more that can be explored. Building Coruscant would feel like building a ship for JtL, I think, when it's finished, which I would approve of. You could look out the window and see the other buildings, cars passing by, etc.
The problem I'm seeing, is getting the world designing team to buy it. If I remember the interview of the former lead world designer, he seemed to think that 4 housing styles (Corellian, Naboo, Tatooine, Generic) was enough for anybody so I don't know how easy it would be to sell a building style that's intended for just 1 planet, and going to be far more complicated than anything the team had done thus far.
Sadly, it would become a ghost town. Any missions you could do there would eventually run out, and it lacks any realdraws for crafters, bio-engineers, creature handlers, and scouts. I hope the coming of JtL opens up the possibility of locations such as Coruscant to be visitable (if only perceive through the viewscreen of your cockpit and posing some very nasty obstacles to run into).
And, hey, if they could do Coruscant then Bespin would be doable too. Between the two of them as JtL dogfighting locations, I don't know how you could get any more Star Wars-Immersive.

They could use the same model for Coruscant and Bespin, since you wouldn't be able to place houses on Bespin either.

That's basically what I was saying.

You could also make it so that you got more items/lot .. like the most you can get now is 100 for 1 lot..On a factory. Maybe it could be 125 or 150 per lot, and that would make it a lot more viable and people would want to rent rooms etc. Just a thought

This has anything to do with whatnow? Lol, should have figured Coruscant would become one giant warehouse if it went live! Just kidding...
Let's all look for the really old junk we don't need anymore and declare a game-wide Spring Cleaning day where we delete all the useless junk we don't want anymore and maybe the Devs will fix Warcry and Smugglers as a sign of gratitude. While we're at it, we could maybe even topple over a few of the lesser developed cities and force them to move into the bigger ones... Err, hehe.

I know a lot of people have asked about the possiblity of having the planet Coruscant added to the game (I would love this, myself), but it seems sort of impractical with the way the game is set up. Coruscant is one big city, and you know how cities work: you can't build structures or resource harvesters, you can't declare residence, and you can't set up vendors. Under these rules, Coruscant would be like a big, pretty shopping mall where there was nothing to buy.
However, I was in the cantina at Anchorhead the other day, and I noticed the space in the lower levels that was going unused. Rooms that look like they're set up to be shops, but with no vendors present, and I said to myself, "man, it's too bad we can't rent these locations...." As soon as I said it, I thought of Coruscant.
The idea is this: There would be buildings in Coruscant wityh multiple stories and multiple rooms on each story. Some would be zoned as apartments, some would be zoned as stores. Each room would have a structure maintenance terminal on the wall. You would click on it to find out if the room is occupied. If so, the only radial option you'd get would be 'Examine'. If not, you would get a full radial menu. There would be an option for 'Rent this space'. If you rent it, you have to pay maintence (rent). The amount of rent would be based on thie size, much like with structures. These rented rooms would also count toward your 10 lots, to prevent any one person from renting the whole planet. : ) The structure maintenance terminal would also let you set permisions. set public or private. declare residence in an apartment, and set up vendors in a store. In order to keep the location, you would have to keep up the maintenance, just like with structures. If you don't, instead of the structure decaying and collapsing, you would lose the room, as well as anything you had stored in it (just like in real life). If you decided you didn't want the room anymore, you could select that option on the terminal. You would get back any maintenance money over 100%, and you could take your stuff and leave.
The only problem with all this that I see is with harvesters. There still wouldn't be anyplace to put them. But that might be a good thing. It would lead to a new twist in the economy, and a new way to make money: resource importing. Or maybe not. Any way, what dou you all think of my idea?
