I need some advice on this Rebel Pilot mission.

It's the one where you've got the info in the previous mission and now you're supposed to rendevous with the other pilot in the Yavin System and give him the data.

After the rendevous, wave after appearently endless wave of Tie fighters show up, with the waves moving up from tier 2-3 (manageable) to tier 4 fighters (cream me everytime). When the tier 4 fighters hit us, I can never seem to last long.

Am I missing something in this mission? Are we supposed to run from them or something? Or do I just need to enlist enough assistance to take these guys out?

A little more info...

The rebel pilot trainer with Vortex at the abandoned rebel base on Dantooine

asks that meet up tih a Vortex Scientist at a space station in the Yavin sector

once meeting him (he shows up in a headhunter)at the rendevous you then are set upon by

at least 4 waves of tier 3 tie's (those I can handle) then a wave of tier 4's come in and kill me.

Any help at all would be great... : )

Stick very close to the scientist, don't stray to far from him or u will draw the tier 4's into the fight, I think he is moving to avoid the Tier 4's. I was having the same problem, after a bit some rebel X-wings and A-wings will show up to help with rest or at least the did for me
