I couldnt find anywhere suitable for this thread so ill post it here...if you think you no where it should go instead tell me and ill gladly move it to the apropriate place...
Now that thats done,
When i bought the game i made made my charector a wookiee...i liked the furballs. After playin for a while and getting involved with the game i cam to realize that wookiees had the short end of the stick when it came to some things. My dilima is that I would love nuthing more than to switch my charecter to another race...human or zarbrak. I would delete my person and make a new one except the loss of time sent playing would begreat and it would take me a year to catch up.know there is no way to do this YET but if the community suggests this maybe the devs can impliment it into the game. Ex- Like the charecter builder thing but have it wher it changes your race, or pay for the change like we did if we wanted to go to a different galaxie.

cool idea...that would have helped a lot when my bro had to change from rodian to human, because he couldnt get any imp faction (or, he got little, and everything cost more)

The devs have specifically said you will never be able to change your race or sex.
LucasArts officially put the veto on it a long time ago.

I dont really understand why they wouldn't allow it. It would further increase the playablity and longevity of the game itself.

Its a good idea. Or how about the fact of being able to change your name?

The name isn't as big an issue for me as the race or gender is. But when one is changing theire race or gender the name itself might reflect who they were ex. Furball - Wookiee...wouldnt go well with a human. Or sally - wouldnt work with a male. SO i see your point. But if Lucase himself said no I highly doubt anything will happen unless we can get a large number of supporters..maybe we should start a petition forum...?

Wouldn't it just be easier to give your stuff to a friend, delete your character, and start over?

It wouldn't take all that long to grind your template back to where it is now.

The devs have made this perfectly clear in the past... Although we're not allowed most features (Name change, QA Options), almost anything in the game is possible. However, there are only two things in the game that are IMPOSSIBLE to change: your species, and your gender. So, this isn't going to happen, not now, not ever.
I'd like to see some sort of name-change system, but like the Transfer System, they'll probably charge for it.

Have petitions ever worked?
Besides i see a lot fo petitions..and devs don't really read these things.
