Hi all,

I originally started playing SWG on launch on 7/2003. Due to time constraints I had to quit pretty soon thereafter. I am however back, with a new character and Jump To Light Speed. I am incredibly excited about this game, and am eager to start on my professions. I have a couple of noob questions if you don't mind.

1) I am interested in going for pistoleer first. Should I spend time on the ground gaining XP/Money before spending alot of time in space? If so, where are some great places to gain pistol xp? Ive got a dl44 pistol now, and am working on Pistols 4 at the moment.

2) What kind of armor works the best for a soon to be novice pistoleer? Composite is almost 300k, which is way out of my price level. I'm thinking about saving up for ubese.

3) Is Dathomir still a good place to find non-solo groups? I used to go there alot and get money fairly quickly.

thanks so much

Welcome back!! - I'll try and answer your questions as best i can.

1) Space is quite expensive, you can work on your first tier without expending alot of money since the starter ship is free and very cheap to repair (100 credits at most). Things start to get expensive when you want to upgrade your ship. I would highly recommend having 150k minimum in the bank before you start trying to build yourself a better ship, but like i said, the starter ship will hold you until you're 1111.

2) You can get kinetic resist ubese for much cheaper than 300k, shop around a bit or even better; Join a guild, if the guild has any type of quality to it, they will help you out immensely.

3) This is the unfortunate part, there really are no non-solo groups anymore (atleast not until the combat revamp is complete). The only time i participate in a group hunt is with guild members, gone are the days of joining into random hunting groups and heading out together... But they will return, hopefully soon!

there are some non-solo hunting groups still around. they are usually on Tat in Mos Eisley and the groups usually hunt squills. I lead a few everyonce in a while whenever i feel like helping out new players, and not just giving them stuff. they fun plus you get to meet some newb players.

One thing you can try is to go to Eisley and try to get a group together, then head to Dathimor, and see what happens, will be interesting.......

Its all fun and games until your incapped by a nuna!
