Hmmmm, fairly new at SWG and after trying out a few professions deciding to go down the route of Pistoleer.
At the moment I have
Master Marksman
Pistoleer 0-3-1-1
Bounty Hunter 0-0-4-0 (The Bounty Pistols line)
Scout 4-3-4-1
When I get Master Pistoleer, is it worth me keeping Bounty Pistols IV? I am not to sure whether my pistol skill mods will be capped - in which case I will use the Skill Points on something else.
Also, any advice on what else would work nicely with Pistoleer?
Any advice or comments would be appreciated!

You can also do the Smuggler Pistol branch. You get Lastditch and Lowblow (a knockdown shot) and Feign of Death comes in very handy. You will need the unarmed branch of brawler to get this; an easy grind in the squill cave.

Ahhh... I never thought of the smuggler pistol branch... I got up to unarmed III as well but dropped it - gutted! Thanks for the advice
