I dont get how to use or what to buy for the droid portion of JTL that gets installed on my ship. I know how to load them but what good are they to control of a ship and what droid or module am i suppose to buy to install on my ship? DO I need a r2 or r3 unit. Will one work and not the other? Do they need certain modules in the droid to work in a TIE? Is there some link that tells me more about Droids and Ships? Help please.

yes I would like to know as well. Is there a guide out there somewhere detailing all the differentequipment/droids that can be used in ships and what key stats to look at to tell how one thing is better than the other?

Rebel Pilots use astromechs. I believe that Imperial as well as Neutral use the Flight Computer.

Ok. You need an R-series unit (R2 - R5) with a Data Storage Module in it. The level of module determines how many data slots it has and what level of Pilot Astromech certification is needed. Don't bother with a droid at level 1, there's no point. Level 2-3 droid usage (first tier) gives you shield control programs.

You also need Unprogrammed Droid Command Modules from a Droid Engineer. These are used to load programs.

In order:

  1. Program the command modules with the commands you want access to. Use the Radial Menu.

  2. Upload the commands to your datapad. Radial Menu again.

  3. Call the Astromech droid, and open it's datapad. LOVE the Radial Menu.

  4. Drag the command from your datapad to the droid. NOTE: They cannot be removed again, but can be destroyed to free up space. Be one with the Radial Menu.

  5. At a Starhip Terminal, Manage your ship. Load a Droid Interface and your Droid.

  6. Fly into space, use the droid. I have NO CLUE how to use one in space, have not done so yet.
