I'm doing the Emperor's Retreat missions on Tier 2 of my Imperial Pilot Training, the one where you go to Dantooine to intercept a data transmission. I'm having a heck of a time fending off wave after wave of Level 2 X-Wings.

Is there a trick to it other than, "Bring a bunch of friends and have at 'em"?

I'm doing the same one andhaving the same problem. I think that there HAS to be another way.

It's very possible to do this mission if you have good equipment, I soloed it fighting off all the X-Wings, my back armor was totally gone and my sheilds were at about 23%.

It is possible though.

I had a Tie Fighter with all level three equipment and did not have a problem. If you are still using the starter craft then that might be what's holding you back.

I got it on my third try. I brought along a friend that time.

Something I didn't realize: I normally play with System Messages turned off on the main screen, soI think that made the Quest messagesdefault to not showing up at all in space. I had to add Quest and System messages tomy Spatial chat window in space as well.... It's VERY difficult to know what's going on in space when the Quest messages dont' show up during your missions!

Why are ya trying to hit anything at all just keep on targetting and gettin to the guys so they back off and dont pose a problem. If something starts to shoot you turn to it and itll stop. Rinse and repeat till u have 100% then hyperdrive and use the same tactic so they dont hit ya while loading hyperdrive

I managed to get it on the first try, however I've been fortunate in getting good componet loots before I even got to Tier 2. I trick that I used to survive the wave attacks was rather than shooting to destroy I simply targeted the reactors and left most of the Reb ships floating adrift in space
