Dear Star Wars Galaxies Community,

I'm feeling severely limited here... I want to help shape the future of Star Wars Galaxies to be a better one, a grand game that all can enjoy, but I feel that I am not being given the oppurtunity here. Sure, I've submitted resumes for combat testing positions and other positions where you can take an active role in the game, but let's face it. Out of all the players that asked for this position, many good ones, it is almost like a mini-lottery chance that you will get in.

I feel that there should be a group of players, ever growing, that dedicate themselves to the betterment of the game, and are listened to by the developers in addition to the current exalted community players. Some MMORPGs have a system that grants a player permissions to apply for a helper position once they reach a certain age, where they recieve a helper mark and station where they answer questions regarding the game. Sort of like a CSR position, without the game changing power.

Once they reach a credible number of questions answered, the are granted a real position in the game, where they actually have control over the envoirment, much like a CSR does. They act as game moderators, and submit helpful information, and also sometimes acutally help in the development of the game.

I know that there are many talented players out here that are not being given the oppurtunity to put their great skills into this game. They want to help, and they should be allowed to help! I know there are some players out there that will back me on this, that we need more of the community in on the future development of the game. There are, I admit, some players out there that want to hinder the development of the game, and just generally be, for lack of a better word, l33t PvPers.

If a system like this is added, it would also dramatically increase the amount of player/live events, since players will finally be able to have dramatic player events without resorting to twisting the game system around to make their event. One of the things that made one of the few company assisted player events, was the addition to a server Olympic race. An event coordinator, Pex, granted them a visit, and placed down flags, gazebos, and other landmarks to mark the various areas of the event, and also spectator areas. This made it a very enjoyable event!

Also, who hasn't enjoyed the droid raid on cities, or the Tusken raids on Tatooine cities? Always memorial events.

Sadly, many player races I see are dependant on widely space harvestors, or creative vendor solutions or such to make their race doable, and even then, sometimes the game system holds back the race from being even, or just plain exciting. A lot of people haven't even experience a live event, to my understanding, unless they play 24/7. Live events are just too far and few between, and when they are put into effect, it always seems to be for some special occasion, like a holiday.

I have never ever seen any player in any other MMORPGs grief this system, because it requires as time of commitment, and actualy question answering. You cannot grind through this stage and get the end result quickly.

But maybe I'm more alone than I thought. I've never seen anyone else mention anything like this. At this part, I need your comments on this. Do you think that I am being fair in my judgement or not? I ask your opinions in posting.

Please do not just rate me and move on. Not even 5 stars. I need your evaluation of the post in the text of your reply. Not an annoymous rating system.

Thank you,

Marsh

No,

In AO, the GMs became assets for guilds since they were able to manipulate stuff.

Well, I'm not talking about total game manipulation, I'm talking about maybe they are able to place some flags, or temporary gazebos and such to help out player events. Maybe spawn some live events with the permission of the event coordinator. They could even make some items like "tropheys". Even then, these wouldn't be permanent, either deleted by the person who placed them, or being taken up after a certain number of days.

But I wasn't talking about giving people great weapons, or deleting other guilds stuff, or anything like that. They wouldn't have a much power as the CSRs for sure. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
