Alert: I have noticed several parts that I did type into this message are missing, often rendering the sentence or entire paragraph incomprehensible. If you notice anything peculiar, let me know. Thanks!
First off, my character is a brawler, and so this mainly applies to meelee characters, so I would not reccomend that a doctor/Fighter migrate stats for this purpose unless you are absolutely sure you want to do this!!
One major reason I wanted to adjust stats to wear acceptable composite without buffs was that one day, I was out and I had the mis-fortune of making the mistake of hitting my macro to change clothes and I ended up with my inventory so full, I could not move! I thought ok, I'll just put my composite back on and ...... Noooo!!! I can't equip any more armor! I could not trade out, or do anything, and so I was trapped there, for a good 15 minutes, unable to drop anything to unload, and it took me what seemed forever to finally notice that my travel pack had become unequipped as it sometimes does for no apparrent reason, and when that happens, you lose the extra count of inventory itemsthe travel pack allows you to carry. I felt like a sitting duck for your friendly neighborhood sith or other nasties!
You may need to be good friends with an armor crafter or pay them well for their time and trouble of letting you get buffed up and select pieces which have fair protection and yet low ham costs. I am told that the Helmet carries the biggest mind hit of all parts btw. Get buffed and equip the armor and log out for a minute and then log back in so you can proceed with the process below....
My TKM I can wear *Composite*armor with adequate protection of not only kenetic, but energy, heat, cold and stun too without buffs! What did I do?
*I looked at the reccomended stats for TKM andI followed closely the stats reccomended by the TKM SOE contact person with the exception of instead of 1100 mind I chose 800 mind for my human TKM. Why? Because I noticed that my original non-migrated mind pool was so low that after drinking 1brandy, I had only 825 mind or so. I thought I was drinking two, but that wouldn't be possible unless it was really lousey brandy with a minimum mind pool of 400? (Or is it 600), so I could migrate some of my stats around and leave me with 800 mind and it would be almost as good as if I had drunk a brandy or two. Interestingly, all the reccomendations were from TK that fought unarmed. Hmmm, I guess they must wear a lot of clothes with defense and other bonuses to compensate, but I'm not on a big budget, and I had a selection of free composite I could choose from the guild armory.
* To figure out what your secondary and tertiary stats need to be to wear a suit of armor in this case a suit I chose with low ham but acceptable protections, equip the armor andlog out soall buffs drop, re-enter the tame and open up your character sheet and click on stat migration and look at the modifiars column. Any stat with 0 in this column do not need to be adjusted up, namely these would be Health, Action and Mind. PS: It seems that there is a sort of twilight zone area where if you log off and log in within this timezone, your buffs are still active, but they don't show up on the modifiars window! I forgot to check the character sheet - Sorry! All I know is when my doctor buffed me, he got a message that said something like "You re-applyAl'ari's Action buff".
Important: I reccomend writing down your starting stats. If you don't like the results, you can always go back!
* Also, you will note that the secondry and tertiary stats for your Health, Mind and Action will have matching numbers in this column, for example if you see 145 in this column for your Constitution, your strength stat will also have a 145 there.
Where every stat has a non-zero number in this column, this number represents the amount you need raise that stat to in order to wear the armor unbuffed - 1. So, if your Constitution and Strength has 145 in this column, you will need to raise these two stats by 146. So, if your current strength is 400, you would have to raise your strength to 546.
This is the same for the second and third stat just below your action and mind stat. They will have to be increased by the number in the modifiars column+1.
For you to increase your secondary and tertiary stats you need to adjust to wear this suit unbuffed, you must give up points from one of the other stats. Adjust your stats around, giving and taking till you got what you want. If you get confused just hit the cancel and start again. When you are satisfied that your prospective stat migration fits your needs, hit the OK button. Don't worry if you accidentally hit the OK button, your stats won't change until you have an image designer change them for you, and you can adjust them back if you hit the OK by mistake ... You did remember to record your original stats didn't you?
Go to an image designer, while unbuffed and have your stats migrated and then try to take your helmet or some other piece off and then try to re-equip it. If you can re-equip it, you did better than I did because the first time, I *completely missed*adjusting my str stat and it was set at 400 when it needed to be something like 546, but it all worked the second time.
I suspect you can also just add up the ham amounts for all the pieces and add one to this number to arrive at your target stats, but I have the attention span of a gnat, and am so prone to error that this would have been nothing but an exercise in gut-wrenching frustration as I would do one error after another.
I liked the results I got. I found that with decent brandy, and entertainer mind buffs and even with my mediocre doctor buffs (I have an alt master doctor - Don't tell him he's an alt, it'l hut his feelings! LoL), I could fight and spam my special moves for a very very long time before running out of mind pool. Contrast this with my previous stats, where I would rip through my mind pool like a rabid tiger in 15 seconds or less *even with all the best brandy I could drink*! .... Yuck!
Good luck to your results be as gratifying as mine are.
Attention rules ....
1. In order to catch yourself not paying attention, you have to notice you are not paying attention.
2. This is about as easy as noticing that you are unconscious!!
3. See rules 1 and 2.
