Thread: Making/Getting Buffed. Don't over pay!

Because a 10k buff can make you between 200-400k, even after the solo-group nerf.
Like I said, not everyone can make that, to assume everyone knows how or has the desire is wrong.
Because not every doctor has your template.
I hope not, Master Doc, Master Shipwright would suck for trying to get Avian Meat.
Because buying those resources as opposed to gathering them is what the majority of doctors do.
The Profit is still there, smaller but still in the 2.25-2.65x area.
Because people continue to feel it's fair enough to pay it.
Never debated this, it's the people that can't pay this or see no reason for the prices (as there is none) that I'm concerned about.
I'm not a doctor and probably never will be and I can clearly see why they charge what they do.
I'm a Doc, been a Doc, and I don't. I think my viewpoint might be a little more valid as you don't know everything that comes with it. That's rather short sighted to say. But as you just mentioned, they charge that because people will pay it. That's a very bad justification for people that can't pay it.

Eh, I paid 12k last night for a 1900 buff because I was paying for convenience and I figured the guy was probably a struggling Doc who needed the money more than I need it. Of course I also gave a new dude 12k so he could get one too. I don't make a habit of that, but again, it's not much to me, but a big help to him. Well, that and the fact that he wasn't begging or being a jerk in any way.
Convenience is afactor too. You'll pay more for grocery items atthe corner7-11 than you would at the grocery store because you're paying for convenience.
Agreed. Nice example, that person would have probably not been able to get a buff had you not helped.

Hehe, how could I forget it? You're like the 10th person to bring it up here...

Lets also not forget that sitting their for hours and hours buffing isnt exactly as much fun as you might think. Their is a conciderable charge for this I think.

With the above numbers:
Cost Per Buff Set: 848 credits
Cost Per Single Stat Buff: 142 credits
Resource Per Single Stat Buff: ~260 units
And we pay this much for buffs..... why?
Well you can do the same analysis with other crafting professions. Without going into the same detail;
AT21 rifle takes 697unitsof resource to make, These usually go for 20k+ unsliced. Since we do not take time or resource quality into the mix why are all weaponsmiths ripping us off, they should be charging 2k max because 300% profit is more than enough.
AComposite Chest peicetakes 572units of resource to make, These usually go for 30k+ unsliced. Since we do not take time or resource quality into the mix why are all Armorsmiths ripping us off, they should be charging 2k max because 300% profit is more than enough.

Again, as the point has been brought up several times before, I will answer it in the same way. A T-21 will last longer than 3 hours. If you log out for 45 minutes, you still have the T-21, if you are killed by a DJK on Dantooine 5 minutes after you buy your T-21 you still have it.
