The Rebellion is comprised of remnants of the Old Republic that did not submit to Chancellor Palpatine's rule. At the time of this movie it was not a government over anything, however after the events of RoTJ the Republic came back into power over many (but not all planets)
The point is, while it was "ragtag" and tiny, it was very organized with an extensive spynetwork and typical military rank system. It wasn't just a bunch of wild boys doing whatever they wanted. There was order, a command, generals, etc. I can guarantee, that new republic would have the same stance as the old republic, and not allow illegal drugs and tampered weapons to be sold freely.

That is exactly why they should have listened to the NRA. If all guns would have been legal, they probably wouldn't have fallen to the Empire in the first dang place. If they were smart, they would allow the sell of all assault rifes....er, sliced weapons.

I never understand the rebel fanatics who believe it's only the "good" guys (i.e. Rebels) who can smuggle. Now that Ronald Reagan is dead, maybe we should remember the "evil empire" a little more. Now, those guys were truly evil (although they viewed themselves as the "rebels" of their time) - and guess what - they were corrupt as hell and their officers and beaurocrats smuggled all kinds of stuff given the opportunity. I know people who visited the Soviet Union and people would do anything to get a pair of jeans! And when the "evil empire" truly collapsed, who didn't fear those corrupt people would smuggle atomic warheads to local Blofields?

Yep, Imperial smugglers do have a place in SWG. And its not an oxymoron or anachronistic at all, just a mirror of the world we live in.

Hi guy's I'm a Rebel Smuggler and My thought's on this thread are 2 fold. But a Quick Question..

How many of you have read the Book's by DAvid Weber "The Honor Harrington Series" in the first Book "On Bassilick Station".. The one of the points' in the story Line Goes along the line of Who is best to find out the smuggler's But "Other Smuggler" The Smuggler's in the employ of the forces could be used to Look For the guy's transporting the " illegal " good's..

Ok Here are the 2 point's..

1: All MASTER Smuggler's can Spot any illegal goods being transported by every player be they rebel. neutral, and Imperial..

If they wish to they can report the people smuggling / transporting good's.. If theydo, they open them selves up2 things, they gain faction point's in their faction and they open them selves to open attack..They also get a money bonus for doing So, as a reward for Identifying a person smuggling Good..

[ I don't know how this would be Implemented But it would make the game Fun for all who wish to have funn..]

2: The Smuggler's in the Imperial Forces Get the same bounty's placed on their head's If they Get Busted they Lose faction Point's it Does not matter What rank they are..They can not hide from the Smuggler Scan's..

By the way you Should make it the a set percentage of all faction [Imp/rebel ]that the smuggler has..[depending on what faction they are]..

This Will mean that for aMsmuggler they can highlight all player's and no player is invisable to the scan's..

Long live the Smuggler's..

Here's one big (and often overlooked) reason why Smugglers would actually be smarter to side with the Imps: The Mon Cals. For those of you who read the EU, the Mon Cal race (along with a few others) have a very strong dislike for Smugglers (this is talked about a lotin theThrawn Trilogy). And seeing as the Mon Cals are a very influential part of the Rebellion, if they win, the Mon Cals will undoubtedly push for a lot of laws against smuggling and piracy.

Hey guys. I'm a new poster, but have lurked around enoug to have a decent idea of whats up. With Publish 11.3 on the way, I couldn't be happier. New loot, and new space missions at the same time! The best part was that there would be some for Master Smugglers! When I started playing, though, I found my hopes dashed. I found that because I was Imperial, I could not partake in this mission(s). I may be Imperial, but didn't I grind out Master Smuggler like everyone else? Should I not be able to gain access to what I hoped would be a reason to keep Master Smuggler around?

Looking at it from an RP point of view, some may argue that as an Imperial, I am not the kind of person who could commit 'crimes' such as smuggling. If this is the case, why are Imperials able to master the Smuggler profession in the first place? Secondly, is there not enough corruption in the Empire that it would be possible a smuggler joined up to shield himself from seraches?

What I am calling for in this post is to open the Master Smuggler Space Missions to Imperials. It is unfair that we should be denied this mission, andit makes no sense that we should't be able to take it.

Are you refering to the JTL mission for the Smuggler's Alliance Pilots?

Yea, I'm referring to the Talus Space Mission open to Smugglers on the ground, who for some reason have to be Neutral or Rebel.

Grrrr...

I hadn't tried any of these out since I've been doing ground stuff lately, but if that's the case that's just not right.

Greetings fellow Smugglers,

I would agree with Colonel Tsuto Toorima, I for one have found it to be much more profitable to smuggle my wares by carrying my Imperial Badge ( even though i am just a lowly Master Sgt with the Imperial Regeim ) And I too would like an opportunity to have a shot at the smuggler mission but for now

I am new to the forums but have been playing for a while, Im not an aggressiveat mastering proffessionsso it has taken me some time to master the smuggler proffession but I would like to say hello to you all

You may get used to your family being abusive. You may get used to people at school making fun of you. Do you like it? No. Do you try to change it, or atleast find some logic in it? Absolutely.

I have seen that Imperials constantly get the shaft. Then again, so have Rebels at points. I hope that it will all ballance out, but this just upsets that ballance. You don't want all the smugglers being Rebel, do you?

when have the devs really payed much attention to what the players want? if they did and actually worked with us a lot i am willing to bet this would be the best MMORPG out there, they have already told us they don't read our petitions so why would they bother reading or paying attention to other posts here? apparantly TH has said that they will never make Faction Armor Craftable, almost everyone you will find in game will think Crafting Faction Armor, Cloths, Weapons and all sorts would be a great addition... i agree.

i know on the PvP, PvE front it is a difficult decision to please everyone but i think quite a few people in this game would be Extatic if there was no TEF and you could Wear Faction Stuff Covert, the players of this Game have thousands of great ideas to make the game better, but i havn't seen much evidence that the devs actually care in the grand scheme of things

I'm in total agreement here. But I actually think they believe that gamers don't know what they want, and that they (the devs, et al)do, much like how our rl government believes we can't govern ourselves. As for the comment about not reading petitions or our posts, to let you know how little they disregard these boards, a certain moderator who shall remain nameless actually responded to a PM from my wife, and told her that there was no need for us to post on these boards. I can imagine them all saying "This job would be great if it were't for the customers"

As for the original poster, if you wanted to join an army whose goal was to oppress entire worlds and galaxies, why did you join the ragtag Imperials? You should have signed up with the oppressive, evil Rebel Alliance (I jest, but only painfully).
