Hi everyone... i wonder, is there a quick command to type in to do an area chat?...
Hi LongHindLegs,
Try /say. That should put your message in the Spatial channel no matter where you're typing it from.
Hope that helps, cheers. ![]()

As to guides, I may be prejudiced, but I like Warcry:
http://swg.warcry.com/index.php/content/playerguides
CTRL+UP ARROW = Scrolling through the recent things you've said or typed into the chat area. Helpful, I used this alot in EQ when people did not get my tells or wanted me to repeat something very long =/
The alias this is great, but just so you know if you do:
message it does the emote too
example -
waves to Bob
Will show, KStarfire waves to Bob
There also use to be a shortcut to the /say command which was .message but the .message was broken in beta and never fixed. *nudge nudge* devs, lets get to it.
Awesome thread.
KStarfire

1. yes, there is a better way than typing "/tell BobaFett" every single time.... it's "/r"! That will respond to the last person that send you a /tell.
2. As to camps, no, camps are one shot deals. Once you have used them, they are all used up.
Also, /rt [message] will send a new tell to the last person you telled. Helpful if you are receiving tells from more than one person since /r will reply to only the last person you received a tell from.
Example:
/tell Vader I am YOUR father (send a tell to Vader)
Luke tells you, "Hi Grandpa!"
/r Get a life kid (sends a reply to Luke)
/rt What's up with the whiny brat? (Sends a tell to Vader)
--Scot
If you type - :waves to Bob
It will show - KStarfire waves to Bob
KStarfire
/who Name
Will tell you the location of the name you type in.
I have a "WhereamI" Macro set as /Who Snogger. Than when I'm running to set up a harvestor or generator I just F10 till it's doesn't say I'm in a city and then start looking for a place to build.
(Combat) Did you know?
If you are using a Rifle class weapon against a Brawler you take 3x the normal melee damage.
If you are using a Carbine class weapon against a Brawler you take 2x the normal melee damage.
If you are using the Pistol class weapon against a Brawler you take 1x the normal melee damage.
These are just straight multipliers without any added defensive bonuses, once you get higher in the marksman levels you begin to acquire defense vs. melee modifiers that make you harder to hit. Conversely this also applies to the enemy, so if you see a Tusken with a rifle, using your brawling skills could be a devastating tactic.
Players or NPCs that are prone are also more susceptible to melee attacks.
If you're a Brawler andfind it difficult to keep up with a moving target manually, use the /follow command on the enemy and you will automatically chase him to the end of the world and back if need be. More commonly used in a friendly manner to keep groups together.
(Misc) Did you know?
When using the shuttle in a city you can either use the Ticket Droid to board the shuttle, or you can simply double click your travel ticket in your inventory (or use the radial menu).
You want to find a trainer, role player, or helper? In the Community menu (Ctrl P) there is a Search tab where you can filter your search to whatever you want. This will give a list of players that match the filter in your given area, be it a city or elsewhere.
If you want to BE a role player, helper, or just give yourself a title, go to the Character tab in the same Community menu. There are several buttons and dropdown menus to customize your avatar however you want. Setting these will put you in that certain category for the filter when other people do searches.
So someone finds out that you're force sensitive and keeps bugging you to strut your stuff? Just use the /addignore <player> command. This will add them to your list of ignored players, and you can be as anonymous as a crazy old hermit in the middle of a desert.
Correction:
On the /corpse command. They have now increased the range to 20 meters. You also do not need to select your corpse. If you find that you former self has been buried underground by someone's camp or a random spawn, /corpse will work nonetheless.
I'm glad to see so many helpful tips ![]()
