4.5mill still is alot, even to the big spenders. I've got around a billion in cash/items and still wouldnt go around tipping people 4mill just because getting rich is one thing, staying rich and managing your credits properly is something totally different, you can go from 200mill to flat broke in no time if you're not carefull.

I don't think you have anything to fear by reporting this. In my experience the CSR's have been very helpful and nothing like some of the dumbos I've met in other games. It would be kind of obvious that you were reporting yourself, and from what I understand, and what I read, it would be an easy thing for the CSR to be able to tell if the credits you recieved are real or duped.
Trust throws fear outside, it is your only hope. If the gift you received were indeed duped credits, than the chances of you being banned if you did NOT report it are far greater than the remote chance that some dullard would ban you for trying to do the right thing and it seems to me that SWG has very few dullard CSR's if any. The CSR's in this game have earned my trust and my respect.
Well your experience is 1% of what actually happens. If you were to poll (and they have been) players who've played SWG on other sites that dont censor you'd find the majority feel SOE has the worst customer service and the dumbest CSR's in any mmorpg to date.
Also, dont say I didnt warn you but I wouldnt report a dam thing. The last time someone posted here mentioning a credit dupe was because he had been banned for reporting someone tipping him lol. Granted he eventually got back into the game, but still kinda scarey that he had to appeal his way back onto the game. During the last credit duping, hundreds of players got banned very fast even though they reported someone stealth tipping them. SOE policy is to act ignorant and hope it sorts itself out later....
Well, I was only relating my personal in-game experiences with SWG CSR's which is not censored. Give you some examples ....
1. Ultima Online.
* Their Eula makes a bald faced statement that they will never ever replace anything no matter how valuable or rare "Even if you can prove the loss was due to an in-game bug!"
* I got stuck in a cave and lost connection. I could log in with any character but that one but if I tried the "Stuck" character the game would crash to desktop. I tried over and over, perhaps 20 times trying to get logged in.
I contacted a counselor named Jaco who referred my appeal to a CSR who blew me off telling me to just keep trying. Jaco asked me what he said and told me to tell the CSR that Jaco says you need to help this guy. I did so, and got the reply that if I bothered him again about this issue, that he would ban me from the game!!
It took a 40 minute toll call that charged by the minute to Origin systems customer support to get me unstuck, and the csr apologized for the bad behavior of the in-game csr refusing to help me and stated that the only possible way for me to get unstuck was for him to log in my character from his console and move him out. I was told to move him out alright, but I wasn't just moved out, my character was rolled back 14 hours and at 3 hours a night at the most on week nights, that's almost five days!
2. EQ They have the same policy of no replacements no matter why or even if it's the fault of a game bug as Origin had, and I did have one csr get my corpse from being stuck in a wall, which was nice, but I had another one that was most unhelpful as well, but it's too long of a story to mention.
3. Dark ages of Camelot - I created a hunter character but was given the wrong starting weapon by the game and trained in that until I realized I was doing HALF the damage everyone else was getting with a hunter. I had invested 3 months of gameplay in this character and I requested that I have my training I had spent three months investing in the wrong weapon and all I got was a disgusting reply that"You should just simply delete and start over no biggie! Have a nice day! Bye!"
I could go on and on. Then I got SWG ,,,,
* I bought a bugged speeder and the CSR replaced the speeder and even stuck around to see that it worked and was not bugged as well. **Never in any game I've ever played has a CSR replace so much as a dustmite**
* I was stuck on this themepark quest because the NPC was inside a tree where he wasn't supposed to be and I could not finish the quest because the NPC I could not converse with the NPC. A CSR moved the NPC within 10 minutes!
* Had a fellow player who was working with his vendors and right in the middle of it all he went LD and when he got back, all 40 million credits worth of resources were gone off of the vendor. He relogged and still his stuff was gone. He filed a ticket and the CSR was unable to determine what he had lost, but that he had lost a lot of items. The CSR replaced his stuff with similar items but many of them were of better quality than what he had lost!!
-----------------------------------------------------
So, the point is, that I have had a better experience with the CSR's in SWG than in any other game.
However, I am sorry to hear about the player you say was banned when he or she tried to report a possible dupe. It just seems a fact of life that there are dunderhead CSR's in every game, and that's kind of sad.
On your reference to hundreds being banned for reporting possible credit dupes: Gawd that's just plain aweful! I had hoped that the CSR's would have a bit more of a care, to take a look and actually read the text of the ticket, but if this indeed happened, than it seems that is not the case.
I wish the SWG CSR's that dealt with other players were as helpful as they were to me when I filed a ticket.

That thought crossed my mind also, but I chose respect over credits. ![]()
