Exactly. The Devs seemed to have simply forgot to end it, so simply didn't bother to end it. Wouldn't been simple enough... all they had to do was make an announcement who won, change the Dead Eye schematic so it took another resource, ended the last mission and there you have it. Done.

Ah well... atleast we can still get the flora... it looks cool, anyway.

More content (especially for JTL after reaching Master Pilot) would be wonderful.

This is inspired by playing JTL and by playing Guild Wars. In Guild Wars there is a system where groups of players can enter a PVP arena and play structured games, variations on capture-the-flag type of challenges. And of course in JTL there are spaceships Smile

Here's the idea:

A group of players must fly to a certain area, past waves of enemy ships, to a Corellian Corvette which they must then dock with and board.

Once they board they must liberate the ship from its crew--fighting them in the hallways and engine rooms. This could be similar to the current Corvette except without 75k HAM human beings and 250k HAM battle droids. It could involve some puzzle solving, on a time limit, as well as combat with NPC characters in the ship. Once the NPCs are all defeated, the next stage begins.

The characters must now get themselves into position as pilot and crew of the ship. One drives, one manipulates the computer, several operate gun turrets on the top, bottom and rear of the ship. They must now navigate the ship safely out of the area, fighting off more waves of enemy ships.

Some of the party members can stay behind in their fighters and fly escort, but there's a bare minimum number that must be on board to pilot and control the ship.

The goal of the mission is to get the Corvette out of enemy space and back home safely.

It would involve both flight and ground combat skills, both flight and ground strategy, as well as multiple types of problem solving and the opportunity to bring a variety of profession types. Terminals on the ship might need a Smuggler to slice, that sort of thing.

Now, this mission could be played as described entirely against NPC opponents. That's one level of complexity.

BUT WHAT IF!!

Two groups could sign up for the mission. They each have the same assignment, and to accomplish it they must prevent the other side from beating them to it!

The two groups of ships can face off--perhaps they only face each other, perhaps waves of NPC ships get involved as well. Whichever one makes it to the Corvette first gets the advantage.

This part would mostly involve space PVP skills and strategy, although it would be amazing if both groups could dock with the ship and they could fight it out there, too.

In Guild Wars, these types of competitive events are instanced, which makes them much more satisfying and self-contained, so that's what I'd recommend for this adventure.

You'd assemble two player groups, and the leader of each group would talk to an NPC who would match up the teams. Either you could choose your opponent, or it would select your enemy from whoever has signed up--something like that.

Of course there could be some kind of reward for being the team to achieve this--space "prestige" points, some type of physical reward, or special ship component... the main thing is that it would be a lot of fun AND give us some kind of PVE *and* PVP content after reaching Master Pilot.

Any thoughts?

Not a bad idea. I think if they were to introduce a group duel feature, where 2 or more groups could duel each other, it would help. That way you can take part in large battles without having to go overt and run the risk of getting ganked whilst simply traveling to the event.
