Pistoleer comes high up because LOTS of WS have pistoleer alts (they can make themselves cool weapons) so this skews the figures

I've been a Pistoleer for over a year and never had more than 800k.

Which brings up my point, I've been playing since June 27 last year and I've never had more then two million. I'd rather spend my time doing something other then running missions till the cows come home.

I think you guys are forgetting this was a survey, so the people he surveyed may not like doing missions 24/7 and maybe the amoursmith doesn't make the best armour.

Yep and he did completly ignore the 'surrounding' info like 'going out for making money for a week or two every few month' .

That whole result lacks two things to be 'worth reading'

a) Overall amount of data (if you grab some 20 ppl's data on the forums you might as well consider your attempt to gather real infos as 'failed')

b) Lack of taking more than the mere 'x credits on the account' info into account

Have I said I'm still surveying? People say my numbers are wrong its probobly true. Version 2 will come out soon with more people surveyed. Hopefully it will work out better. I WILL next time post next to the proffession the number of people surveyed.

Your numbers are skewed. I'll be willing to bet that swords/rifles really top the list.

I agree, you have to look at earning potential. In the combat area sword and rifle (in that order), being the two highest damage dealing profs have the highest earning potential. More importantly you have to broaden your study to different play styles. Anyone grinding missions three hours a night regardless of prof is probably very wealthy, its just that some profs will do it faster than others. What I would start out with is constructing some variables like find out what an average TKA does with their profession for money, then you can multiply that by fictional game times/scenarios.

It wouldbe a very interesting study, but overall you need to expand your dataset to account for variables in game and look at who can earn what and in how much time.

I know one thing....these numbers will be off significantly for the simple fact that not every person on every server was surveyed......So You can easily have 10 thousand or more rifleman or swordsman or WS...etc not included in the survey. Also, nobody who really makes a lot of money in this game does it with only 1 profession. Therefore you can't say one profession makes more than another...you can't compare it by profession.

Another thing that this thread doesn't take into consideration is that most millions are not made from running missions. Loot is the single biggest money maker in this game even though the money used to buy the loot was largly made from running missions. but It would takea lotof missions to make 10 million credits....you can sell a +5 SEA for 10 million. crystals, loot kit components, krayt pearls and tissues, acklay loot, nightsister loot, SEA's...so on and so on are where the biggest money comes from. Even WS and AS make a lot of money from enchanced weapons and armor.....they use loot to improve their products and that is why weapons and armor prices shot up sky high....I can remember when a good suit of composite cost 50k...now days add 4 zeros to that.

Lastly, for this info to be even close to accurate it will take the devs to give us some stats on who or what makes the most money and since it can't be grouped by profession in a system that heavily relies on dabbling....you don't truely make money solely based on one profession but multiple professions. When I changed from pistoleer to swordsman, I had 5 million credits and didn't make a lot of money as a swordsman because I wasn't trying to....but just because I had that 5 million and made maybe another 1 million while I was a swordsman, doesn't mean that I made 6 million as a swordsman.......actually, I made 6 million from a combination of pistoleer, fencer, swordsman, Pikeman, TKA, Marksman and smuggler.......

This thread should be edited to state "based on the people surveyed" and also remind people that it's a very very small percentage of the server population that would be inlcuded in such a survey. However, it's a good starting point and can give a good idea of the amount of money that people have...but not how they made it....most people won't remember how they made every cent over the time they have played....it's just not something you keep track off unless your keeping records for some reason.

Quite Funny really, as in my 3 accounts,

1st) Architect / Artisan/ Shipwright / Merchant - (non practising bar merchant)/ Pilot

2nd)TKM / DOC/ Pilot- (rarely do buff's - can't be bothered)

3rd) Pistoleer / CH - (awaiting the combat upgrade and just provides lot's atm)

that is how the wealth is held, but it's the TKM that brings in the GDK scales and NS loot in copious quantites, I havent put a wealth figure down, but between the 3 it's probably in the 40-50m (not counting the resources stacked that are worth millions). I normally keep around 8-10m working cash on the TKM so as to be able to buy most things without a trip back to base (but since JTL it's made it a lot easier)
