I use my mouse wheel button to toggle the overhead map on and off.

Wow. I don't even use the mouse. I used the numpad to move around (with numpad7 and numpad9 for pan up and down and numpad 8 and 2 remapped for forward and back (like uparrow and downarrow). Then I can do whatever I want from my third person point of view with the numpad. And I don't have to move my hand to the mouse when I'm not chatting.
And that makes it almost impossible for me to play SWG on my laptop, since I haven't bought a USB numpad for it (and there's not one built on).
I tried playing with the mouse. I really did. I didn't like it.

Oh. And a tip. numpad 1 and numpad 3 will make you spin around if you're in 3rd person point of view and standing still. It's great for making small adjustments to which way your character is facing.

I remap my mouse wheel button as the cycle target out action.... same thing as what the TAB key is mapped to.

I do this also, works great !
I also remapped my 'walk' speed from right shift to the right mouse button.

I feel like I should post my keymap. This is good for those who use a FPS style keyboard
Cursor Toggle: numberpad enter
Datapad: E
Inventory: R
Skills: F
Autorun: Q
Minimap: Tab (a nod to Diablo 2)
Cycle target out: right click <-------BEST KEYBIND EVER imho
Mail: M
Planetary Map: V
Character Sheet: C
virtually everything is centered around your left hand while your right hand uses the mouse. btw I never use that green cursor while playing, in factI hate it, if I need to rotate the screen I just push my mouse over to the edge and rotate it that way.

Use FPS mode and then mouse-look toggle is the right mouse button, and the "go bage a page in IE" button where the thumb is (if you have an MS intellimouse like me) is autorun. It's very convenient.

I love the remapfeature, I have all my attacks and mountings on my keypad
ex
1-Unarmed stun
3-unarmed KD
5-target next
+- self heal
*- mount speeder
-- Dismount
9- peace
and I moved Auto run from the Num lock to the right window key so it doesnt mess with my attack.
(I have a lot more but you get the idea)
