Last year there was a Life Day "thing" and a Christmas/holiday/end of the year gift.
This year there is no Christmas gift just the Life Day. That is where this disappointment is coming from...
Since the launch of SWG I have looked forward to every holiday to see what will be done ingame. Nothing. Then Christmas came around and finally something. So, the same thing happened in the following year with even more anticipation for the Christmas gift as last years was uncreative.
Only we get nothing.
On FFXI they got a much more interactive quest for a Santa hat with Christmas decor all through the towns. In SWG we get... Nothing when compared to what was given out last year. The wookie thing is for Life Day, not the Christmas gift.

Life Day IS the non-denominational Star Wars version of Christmas. So the Life Day gift IS the Christmas gift.

Not compared to what we got last year.
Last year there was a Life Day thing, which was poorly implemented, and then we also got a Christmas gift. There is no Christmas gift this year.

And there are 2 sides to Christmas, why do you think so many non-Christians celebrate it?
There is the true meaning which is the birth of Jesus but then also a pagan side which is also the commercial version that involves a decorated tree and a big man with a beard known as Santa. And people of all faiths celebrate Christmas with the tree as it is a fun tradition that brings families together.

So this year it is a little different. I don't really want to get this thread locked, so we will have to agree to disagree, ok? ![]()
I think giving everyone a chance to get a gift for Life Day is a gift. (especially since I was not a member of a player city last year and got nothing for Life Day) You think it is not.

How much will those life day things go for anyway...
Depends.
If it weren't for Jedis and cross-server trading... Alot.
But with the Jedi and crossing server trading... Not so much, also with multiple accounts they won't be worth THAT much but still worth something.
I know someone is buying them for like 100k on my server the other day. But it is tricky because you don't know if the price will go up or down.
All in all, I believe the value will rise. Newer players and returning players who missed out will want one. So unless the developers throw them into the game as loot or a craftable item or a repeat next year, they will be worth something.

Ok, I didn't have time to read every reply to this post, at the time I write this I'm in a hurry, so, sorry if someone else suggested this, but to expand on the original post, not only holsters, but slings for our rifles? Oh yeah, wouldn't it be cool to see the guy carrying a Jawa rifle with a big fat T-21 across his back? Could also apply to carbiles, make 'em look like a sub-machine gun on your side hehe.

I was just talking about something like that the other day.
Was on Lok chattin and said, wouldnt it be great if we logged on and it was snowing on lok and there were snowmen!
Just for a day or so though... probably upset the fanboys but i think it would be amusing to say the least ![]()
