I got the 75k email too... Is this a joke? I mean come on, we make a rant thread and SOE's response is to bribe us with 75k? Alright, well considering all the Life Day paintings are going for like 500k and WAY up on the auctions, I may be able to pay for the sales tax since all I got was another stupid Orb.

Try harder SOE, really, please try harder.

also read the fine print...

To qualify to receive the 75,000 in-game credits you must have an active Jump To Lightspeed account, in good standing, on or before 11:59PM PST on January 31, 2005. The 75,000 credits will be added to one character per server one time only. Credits will only be awarded once. Credits that are lost, traded or otherwise not redeemed cannot be traded for other game items or for cash. Credits awarded will not be replaced/reissued under any conditions.

So if you don't own JTL... you don't get the vetern reward (sorosuub) and you don't get this gift. What a joke. You can keep my 75k or give it to a poor noob... When you have hundreds of million credits, this type of gift just is meaningless. Even if you are not rich I would suspect it has little to no meaning... just like when you get a card with money instead of a true gift that took time, effort, and thought into picking it out.

I must admit, i am thankful for the credits i'll be getting. I made a new character on sun runner and everyone knows how starting off sucks lol. This will be perfect to get me started with the essentials(Speeder, Weapons, Starting Armor, Buffs). It wasn't clever, but i thought it was a decent enough christmas gift for me. Thanks soe, you made my new character on Sunrunner a happy one.

aibo220 youve been harping on this for days. Youve clearly stated that you have no faith in the dev team to make this game the way you want. So get out. Please, I and many others are begging you. The fact that there are no other games out there that you enjoy should not in any way prevent you from sparing yourself and all of us the grief of your complaints about how the devs hate jesus, hate christmas and hate you.

They dont. But now im starting to. Save your 14.99 a month for tabula rasa or whatever game you are so desperately waiting for. There is obviously nothing they could do to please you at this point. If they managed to put out the combat revamp tommorow, it wouldnt be enough because of that whole laundry list of complaints you hae with the game and the team. So why bother playing any more? You are unpleasable and thus, your opinion is completely irrelevant to them at this point. Thats the reality of things.

I've made some new characters on other servers too and each one recieved the 75k.
But you know, it's only for JTL subscribers and it was actually mentioned in the JTL forum a week or two ago.
It was mentioned that the 75k was to help out new JTL players besides the new trainer ships which are now upgradable and come with a hyperdrive.

Now a player can play mostly JTL and never have to run a ground mission if they never want too.
At least I can, since that's exactly what I'm doing with fresh starts on other servers.

Happy Life day everyone, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!! /Spreads the joy

Expecting a gift isn't greedy you moron. A gift is defined as follows:

"Something that is bestowed voluntarily and without compensation"

It can be a worthless item to a million dollar ring. I expect a gift. A token of appreciation. A happy holidays.

I expect it from my boss and my friends and family. I do not expect it to have a significant monetary value. I want them to remember me and appreciate me as I do they. I would send SOE a christmas gift but I cannot seeing as soe is a nameless faceless organization. I expect things I pay a 149.99 subscriptions to to wish me a happy holidays with a token of appreciation. Even my magazine sends me a christmas card.

Thaats right moron you expect it .. there for it is neither voluntary nor with out compensation. To you its demanding or suffer your whinyness.

I expect my friends to be friends not fuel me with gifts expect my boss to keep me in a job, my family to be therein time of need. i do not "expect" a gift from any of them. there fore when it is giving it is indeed voluntary.

I expect for my 15 a month for s.o.e. to do their job and that goes with the devs. i do not expect nor desire a flipping gift.
my gift to s.o.e and the devs is to not be a child every moment i get on here and realise somethings do infact take time to build.
I yell at them, because... well i yell at everyone and why should they be the expections. lol

So now you know why you do not get a gift from me, you expect it, hence you would not get it.

Friends like that i can do without you ingrate.

First off let me say that i've been playing since day 2, stupid order came late , and was around in the days when a D-18 Pistol was a rare find and 100k was considered to be rich. Anyway my most anticipated portion of SWG was the space Expansion and although it was already going to come out this was a fantastic gift. Also just because no gift comes from the Devs doesn't mean there are no gifts! I would be more than happy to recieve a free ship from a friend or a shiney new LVA from my local weaponsmith. Point being although i would have loved to have gotten something neat i'm happy with how the game is progression however slow.

THX

i agree with you Adumar121. And the wookie life day quest was more than enough of a gift/reward for me. You all seem to forget that even though there are a lot of old timers leaving, there are a lot of new people starting who didnt see life day last year and who could use 75k for JTL stuff and who appreciate "lame" friday features with fan site links and things like that.

This is my second time trying the game (tried it back in january) i think its a LOT better now than it was then and i love JTL. So happy F#$(#! new year!
