You're in the middle of something or you're in a hurry so you get on your vehicle and drive off. All of a sudden you're going one way and your vehicle is going another. Man I truley hate being stopped by the troopers, it irks the hell out of me to go through that process. It always seems to happen when you're most busy.
As an Imperial and with a high rank you shouldn't be stopped at all. You still get pulled out only to have them tell you they didn't recognize you. Bah! Ridiculous!
Rebels should get stopped and often (its what you get for being a Rebel against the Empire). Yeah I know I'll hear it from the Rebels.
High ranking Imperials shouldn't have to hear an apology, they shouldn't be stopped at all. Even overt they approach you, come on change this devs its time.

Actually I think it is probably quite appropriate. Wouldn't the Empire be suspicious of its own? Isn't that the way of all despots?
Oh wait, I get it now! You want to be the follower of a despotic ruler so you can act like a complete tool and call it roleplaying, but when the Stormtroopers are roleplayed properly you get all whiny. LOL

Actually he's right Redux...
In any organisation like the Empire, Troopers should recognise high ranking overt players and not stop them. Or if they do, they should check the ID, salute and say "Sorry sir. Please continue on your way."
Now - before you flame me, might I point out that in all those old cheesy WWII movies and the like, this is the tried and true way for a Rebel (or Allied spy, or the dirty dozen or whoever) to get past guards etc - wear the uniform/ID of a high ranking Imp/Nazi/Russian etc. you should support his call for this so that down the line its easier for you to infiltrate the enemy...

Couple of interesting points, though I still don't agree. See, it comes down to the empire itself: It's so huge across the galaxy that it's impossible for EVERY single member to memorize the face of EVERY high figure within. Think about it; you're a soldier of the empire, stuck on tatooine for the last two years, and all you're good at are your daily contraband patrols. Of course, one day you're bound to come across someone, cross-check their ID, and realize they're names turn up with the empire. Honest mistake.
My point is that the devs so far haven't made the game realistically accurate to what it should be. Imperials are supposed to be the organized, tyranous reign over most planets and cities over the galaxy, instantly jailing or even KILLING rebels on sight, not letting one of them who happens to be good with a pistole take out an entire city's worth of STs single-handedly. That's why we badly need the combat upgrade and GCW revamps.
The point is: the game is sckewed to treat everyone fairly more than it is accurate to the Star Wars Universe. If kids didn't play this game, the devs would be free to do what they want, withouta bunch of whiners to stop them.

Actually, the Empire is huge. You could by no means recognize every high ranking officer, other than those with legendary reputations. In a despotic regime like the Empire, ID checks would be commonplace, even for Lt Colonel's or whatever the top Imp rank is would be just as subject to them as the average citizen because officers of that rank are a dime a dozen.
Plus, imagine if you are a Stormtrooper on patrol and your orders are to ID everyone you don't recoginize for fear of sabotuers or infiltrators. Are you gonna risk the rath of your commanding officer or worry about irritating some officer that you have never seen before? Before answering that, remember in despotic societies, someone may be watching you at all times or the unknown officer walking in front of you may have been sent as a test. Bear in mind that you live in fear everyday because the punishments for failure are severe.

Although I am Rebel I agree in a way. Why do they stop Imps? How about they don't stop Overt Imps that have the hat on? If you are Overt you are tagged and you are also not a Rebel (I know that is obvious)
BUT..... Being a Rebel, if a Storm trooper tells me to stop and get off my bike, who says I am going to? Come on. I guess it is because the Stormies can't run after you. Too bad they can't pull out a super swoop themselves and chase you down! That would be fun. Like the TV show cops. "Next on Cops, a Dirty Rebel is caught on tape leading a high speed chase through Theed. OMG he just drove off the water fall!" HEHEHE just an idea ;P

I think in protest you should switch to the rebels so you kill them next time

Spoken like Rebels. I'd rather wait for Imperials especially those of high rank to answer then it'll be worth reading.
Btw no one is whining -Redux- but then again you're a Rebel, what do you know?
Of course if you're an Imperial with high rank you don't want your time wasted with this constant interruption and it wouldn't take being completely stopped to be recongnized.
On the other hand all Rebels should be subject to this constant harrassment just like I stated previously, its only fair.

I guess he doesn't like listening to people unless they agree with him totally.

Something like that.
But on a serious note I just don't like it thats it and those that don't mind, well thats you. Those are15, 30 or even 5 seconds of my time that I don't want to spend on this nonsense. I just get back on the bike and take off but deep down how I wish I could wipe out the troopers. But there's just no way I'd become a Rebel, no way. I see the way they are, Imperials on contrast are helpful with others. It's the reason I went Imperial even though in the begining I was leaning Rebel.
I remember as a noob I couldn't get any help from any rebel when I first started out some 15 months back. But I saw the unity in the Imperials and hence, I am an Imperial of high rank today, rank I've gotten off of many dead rebels.
Moral of this story boys and girls is: I hate those damn troopers when they stop me but, I wouldn't trade them for a rebel unless of course it was a rebel as a corpse.
Amen
I think the real point is that you bought a star wars game, and you don't like the fact you have to deal with a starwarsy situation. There is no respect from the top of the imperial ranks to the bottom. Anyone in the empire would be subject to this sort of treatment. So i guess what I am saying is that you should learn to get alittle more into the game and enjoy what little content it does have.
