Thread: Proposal about 11.2 Group mission payout...

ok...im not sure how many other posts like this are out there, but, i just wanna state my views on this, and, some suggestions that i have for this game that are effected by this.

first, i believe this is a very good change, despite what people may say about "i cant get any money now" or "the player economy is gonna die with this change." This is a multiplayer game, and, we should rely on other people to play the game...its not some first person shooter, where, all you do is run around, kill stuff, and get more money than you will ever need...however, this is what is happening right now with the whole mokk/janta solo missions.

now, if you looked at the player economy graph that the devs had posted a while back, just to show us how the actual economy was doing, you saw that almost all of the money coming was from missions(actually, i think that is all of it, but, i may be wrong). Anyway, now that people will be forced to get reduced mission payouts, people will run low on money fast.

What im trying to get at here is, (which, im have much trouble trying to explain what im thinking atm) now that basically the biggest form of getting money is gone (solo missions) we will need a new way to get money. (and crafters, i dont know how you could think that this wont effect you because, who buys your stuff?people who do missions to get money, what happens when no one has enough money to buy your stuff anymore? you need to drop your prices, or, go out of business).

So, im not sure what the reason to do this is, weather its to group up more, or just lower the already super inflated economy, its good.

now...to what i actually want to suggest.

1. new ways to get money.

we all know, that, we wont be able to keep up with demand for cash by getting 3k per mission we do...it will take almost 4 missions just to pay for the buff that you need to do them. so, to get some more money, we can do a couple things.

Make the dilvery missions diliver to other planets and pay lots more (10k +)

Increase the amount of missions that we can take at a time...this will not increast the payout, but, it will let us get that pay out more often.

Let us be able to trade in looted items, especially space loot, for decent creds (ie 1k times the level the space loot is) to the junk dealer, or chassis broker, or who ever.

Add in more story-line missions, that people can really jump into.

For space, put in master pilot duty missions, from random npc's or continue a storyline into master...give us an ability to use the prestige points (which, i hope you have more planned for then just getting to deep space).

Apply a payout to missions like, the corvettes...decent ones, like, 50k for completing the mission.

Add in more instanced dungeons that we can go to, have fun, and make some money at.

ok...these are some ideas that i have been having lately. please, remember, im not trying to force the deves into doing something, im just stating my point of view, if you dont agree with them, just state what you dont like about some of these suggestions, ill probably agree with you to, im open for suggestions too, hopefully, so are the devs.

I really like the idea of not having solo missions, but, if the take away the biggest income the economy has, they have to replace it with something, otherwise, there will be a collapse of this "mock" world.

I agree with everything you said, just wanted to point this out (also coming in tommorow's patch with the group changes):

  • Chassis Broker will now buy looted space components from any player

Veho Rehq :: Master Fencer | Master Doctor | Master FOTM'er

You actually believe that people who have paid big credits for their resources will reduce their prices simply because the Devs screwed up once again?

I don't think so. For instance an Armorsmith, he's paid big credits for resources to make great armor. I don't believe for one second he's going to lose out because now more people are broke. He'll leave it on his vendor and eventually it'll get sold.

The veterans, aka most of the rich players will not suffer from this. They'll just have their own group of the "rich" with whom to do business with.

On the flip side, the "poor" will lose out on the best there is in game and the "middle class" will become poor.

I've already stated this is a big mistake, many people will feel the squeeze sooner or later. I mean, who wants to have to do missions all day long and come home with nil?

As things stand before this patch takes place, people have it easy as far as making money and even though this is true you'll find many people who are broke. Imagine how worse off they'll be after this is put in.

Ummm, last time I checked, you could still get 9-10k missions solo.

    • Pickets and Hurrton Stalkers on Dantooine.

    • Baz Nitches on Dathomir.

    • Klikniks on Yavin.

    • I have not been on Endor in a while, but I do remember seeing 10k missions on the terms there.

I find it hard to believe that you couldn't survive with a 20k paycut on each mission. I don't feel like doing the math right now, but for a master of an elite combat profession, that still has to be around 300-500k a buff session if done right.

Of course, newbies will have to run regular missions until they can gain enough cash to get some armor, money for buffs, decent weapons, and be at a respectable level to be able to take on these types of creatures.....but that's what they had to do before, right? I fail to see how that aspect is going to change.

The economy will take a slight hit, but smartpeople will be able to survive. It wont be as doom and gloom as a lot of you are making it out ot be. I have only 2 mil to my name, and I am not worried in the slightest.

I'm honestly pretty excited by this change because they have finally done something gutsy that will deflate the economy over time. Every player will be affected differently by this change, and some will probably quit because of it, but it was pretty obvious what the problem was... Now its gone.

IMO: Whether or not you like this change.. you have to give SOE props for doing something.

Inorder to deflate the ecnomy they have to REMOVE money from the economy all thier doing is reduceing the amout of money comeing IN. This will slightly halt the inflation but do nothing to deflate it.

The economy will fix itself. they finally have money sinks that take money out of the game. The chassis dealer is one. The chassis dealer will also buy your looted items which also takes items out of the database, another good thing. (I also consider this a pathetic effort to save a "doomed upon creation" database)

Another nice aspect here. the players that got used to spending 20 million on a great skill tape or uber item have no concept of the actual value of the money they spent. If you have 50 million credits, spending a half mil on brandy is not a hard thing to do. When you have 1 million, you won't spend half of it on that same brandy. So the dynamic introduced here is the higher amounts of cash that the buyers used to have versus what they have been dwindled down to.

The dynamics of the economy has changed and I see the ones that ground all those solo missions and got rich, will spend it foolishly and be broke quickly.
