Anyone know?I heard something about Japanse servers, but are there any more European or American servers being released? Any information is appreciated.

A Japanese version of Galaxies is coming sometime, so yeah new Servers are coming out (for the Japs), but there's no speific date.

The last time I heard anything about this, and it has been some time, the Devs were comfortable with the population on each server, and that no server was overburdened to the point of requiring the introduction of new servers. I imagine we'll only see new servers when you go to make a new character and at least half the servers are listed as "Heavy" traffic and not recommended.

There is an appeal to playing on a new server that doesn't have all the resources, pre-nerf weapons, and an overflowing economy in place.

I never see enough players in game anymore so new servers are probably unlikely.

How can they do server mergers? What about Player Cities at the same WPs? etc etc etc

It's theoretically possible they could deed all yer structures and cram stuff into banks (simply overload them).

The new servers come out Nov 9th tomorrow and are sure to attract hundreds of thousands of players. Oh wait thats EQ2, nevermind

As far as I know, a server merge doesn't mean that one particular galaxy will be removed, just moved to run on the same hardware as another galaxy, so in effect you would have two galaxies running on the same hardware, rather than one set of hardware per galaxy. I would be surprised if there is one cluster per galaxy as it stands at the moment anyway. There are probably a few galaxies sharing hardwware right now, we wouldn't know it as players.

They are never going to do server wipes or merges. This has been a RUMOR and rumor only for a long time. No one wants to move to another server because tehy are going to lose half of the items they have. This is a Rumor that I have confirmed with a Dev in person and no such please exist or are going to happen
