I know there is a way to run multiple instances of SWG on the same machine...

It goes something like Multiple Instances = true in the command line of your icon.

Does anyone know the exact phrasing of this??

Thanks in advance for your help.

My first character goes LD and soon as the second character gets to loading screen and I have put that file in my SWG folder and double checked it to make sure it's right. Anyone else have problems with this?

Just tried it. Works fairly well, even with a mere 512 of RAM.

Perfectly acceptable for what I need it for.

Thanks!

oh, and no, I had no problems with the first character going LD.

soije - this will only work if they are two different accounts. if both of yours are on the same account, one will go LD.

Sorry for the question, I know it's been posted here before, but I didn't have need of it until now.

I need to run two separate accounts at the same time (though for only a few minutes).

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Open Notepad and paste the following two lines in:

[SwgClient]
allowMultipleInstances=TRUE

Then save the file in your SWG folder as "user.cfg" -- make *certain* that it does not get saved as "user.cfg.txt" or it will not work. If it does save under another name, simply navigate to the file and manually rename it.

That's all you need...well, that, and enough RAM and processor power to run the two instances simultaneously.

How do I run multiple instances?

Yes, I have searched the forums.

No, I am not incompetant.

No, I have not edited the user.cfg file...because it isn't present on my hard drive. If it should be...where? And don't say "the SWG folder", because I have several.

Can I get some constructive feedback on this? There are so many threads with only "search the forums" replies that I don't think the real answer is even out there anymore.

I know how to edit the file, once I find it...but I don't know where the file is. Has the new launchpad moved/renamed it?

Create user.cfg in your main SWG folder, with the text below:

[SwgClient]
allowMultipleInstances=true

Also, make sure the file name isn't user.cfg.txt, it needs to have the *.cfg extension.

search the forums... no just kidding... user.cfg isnt in your folder because you have to make it...
1. open notepad or wordpad
2. put the following text in the file
[SwgClient]

allowMultipleInstances=true

3. save as User.cfg in the SWG Directory

Ok...how do I make it a .cfg? Just stick it in the name?

Yes, and make sure to be saving it under "All Files." That way it won't end up as a txt file like user.cfg.txt
