Okay, I am a casual player but not a noob. That said, I have a question about identifying lairs. I know thatMY mission lairs show up asa wayponton radar, andnon-mission lairs show up as yellow. Can the white lairs be for someone else's mission? With all the discussion about KS and hunting etiquetteI just want to make sure I am identifying lairs properly and not destroying someone else's missionlair (and ruining their mission)before they arrive. Thanks!
EDIT: Should say "yellow"

are you sure they come up white? always thought they all came up yellow. I think it has something to do with the title...like..
savage quenker lair
vs
brambles / what ever the hell quenkers live in

white=unattackable
random lairs have names like "pile of leaves" "pile of rocks", mission lairs have names like "a (creature name) lair". so basically don't attack any "a (creature name) lair"s that aren't your mission.

Thanks guys, completelyforgot the part about titles in my original post. DOH! That's what happens when your typing can't keep up with your train of thought!
Anyway, sounds like I've been doing the right thing
Hope this thread will help some of the newer players...as well as veterans...who don't understand the difference.

Are you neutral? If so all faction NPC 'lairs' will show up white to you. If you were Imp, all imp 'lairs' show up lilac, reb yellow. Vise versa if you were Reb.
All critter lairs show up yellow and the only way to tell the difference between a mission and a random spawn is by their title as someone else had stated.

Read my corrected first post. I was referring to creature lairs, and I put a "white" in where I should have put a "yellow." Damn senility!
You guys are really making me look bad finding my mistakes and omissions!

I say attack what ever lair you want, with the amount of kill stealers in this game to begin with it shouldnt hurt anyone to take a lair or 2.

and that is what makes KS'ing worse. If people did the right thing and not give in to this type of game play then the general public would only have to deal with a few bad eggs as opposed to a large number of people.

typical response!
Just because a few other people do it you just say 'do it anyway'.
Yeah...with that attitude I'm sure things will get sorted out

A few bad eggs? I can not recall the last time I was Krayt hunting and didnt get ganked by a steal squad. So your LARGE number if ppl is much smaller then you think.

That's just the desert heat, krayt hunting is an exception, People driving around in the sun for 2 or 3 hours to find1 of the 2 only spawns at a time on the server. Kind of sucks. But other places where spawns are readily available, I don't see any excuse for stealing.

So what you are saying is that ppl who kill steal krayts is aight but someone who steals a lair that will come back in 20 seconds anyways is not alright?. If you see someone beating a krayt shouldnt the same policy apply? Or should it only suit your needs?
