Thread: Looking for nicknacks quest reward items
Ooh I do love nick-nacks!
I'd love to know where to find a lot of these things too. For now I can say that I found one woven basket courtesy of a dead Plasma Thief on Naboo. This was a long, long time ago however, and I haven't seen another since.
Intellect, Heroism, Altruism
Bantha Doll
In Anchorhead on Tatooine talk to Vardias Tyne (104 -5382). The first mission he offers you is to kill a bounty hunter with 6K-10K HAM bars (reports vary, all I know is mine was a red con to me at carbine 4 with the best carbine I could use).
Once you kill the bounty hunter and return, you get 30 credits.
After that Vardias will offer you a second mission to take a Bantha Statue to some guy. Accept the mission and destroy the waypoint. You now have a bantha statue and if you talk to him again he will give you another one.
Note that once you complete any of his missions you may not start over, so if you delever the statue then you may not get them from this method (though you could buy them from other people).
Tree Painting
In Narmle on Rori talk to Jaleena Bindoo (3370 2346) who's inside a large generic guild like structure in the right rear of the building. She asks you to go to a painter and return his painting to her. You accept the mission and head out (roughly 1000m) to the guy and get the painting and cancle the mission to keep the painting.
Notes on this mission are many.
First the painter is a gungan. If you have bad gungan faction your gonna have problems.
He spawns with a thug. If your low combat and have bad thug faction this may cause problems.
The default option on the painter is attack, so don't double click him. Instead select him and open the menu to choose to converse with him.
Also about 1/3 of the time he spawnd in a direction that took me (novice carbineer at this point) past tons of yellow con aggressive humanoid (no mask scent) mobs.
To abort the mission you need to talk to the Jaleena again, but if you have the painting in your inventory you will complete the mission. To keep the painting you need to either give it to someone else, put it in your house, put it in your bank or store it in a backpack (just get it out of your general inventory).
Once you complete this mission you may not take it again.
A guy (can't remeber his name) in one of the main floor rooms in the Bestine museum on Tatooine has missions for you to retrieve non-wearable clothing items (tusken robe from the original raid on the fort and such).
Bren Kingal (3770 2346) in Mos Taike on Tatooine offers several missions to help the city by taking on various bullies and other bad elements for him. As a reward he offers various food items which are generic rather then food (names of food, graphics of food but you can't eat them). You can also store the items from the guys you kill and cancle then restart the mission.
The important one is the 4th mission though, the item your suppose to turn in for that is a AT-ST Pilots Helmet (general item, so you can't wear it). I have not verified that putting it in a backpack works yet (it won't work with all missions) so hand it off to a friend, drop it in your house or throw it in the bank in order to save it.
Note that once you complete a mission you can't do it again and that the difficulty increaces. At Novice Carbineer I had blue con, white con, yellow con and finally a red con on the 4th.
I'm not totally sure either, but I think it may be mislabeled. IIRC the graphics look more like the helmets used by the AT-AT Pilots then the AT-ST Pilots (which is the same as the AT-AT Commanders). My memory on the Hoth and Endor battles isn't the most detailed thing, so I could be mistaken.
There are also several NPC's in every city that will give you junk for completing them. From what I've read on others posts you can get...
(a businessman)
Engraved Pens, Collectable Sports Items and generic.
(a criminal)
Loudspeakers (mission for those has something to do with a key), Decorative Shisa, Sith Necklace, Blacksun Necklace and generic.
(a noble)
Baskets, Cups, Bowls and generic.
Generic items is the best way I can describe these, I've read reports of any of those three giving out the following items...
Photographs, Hyperdrive Parts, Ledgers and some various broken items.
Thats pretty much all the info I've gotten on intresting but useless junk missions. Looking for more if anyone has it.
In Mos Eisley, in the cantina made out of the down freighter (that one's the Lucky DespotI think), the male standing in the small room with Lady Valerian had been giving small items for mission completions. I wound up with a glowing orb, a republic blaster (looks like the small shiny pistol Padmepulls from the armrest of the throne) and a casserole of some sort (from a mission to rescue the guy supposed to be bringing them lunch).
I fed the casserole to mycat, but kept the other items. The fourth mission seems to be bugged though, since I went out to kill a red-con thief who despawned when he moved some as Iwas approaching him, and then I couldn't get the mission given again.
Note that the devs are planning to add a lot of decorative knick-knacks into the game, both from drops and from player crafting.
See http://swg.stratics.com/for the complete article. Here's an excerpt:
"At one point, we did consider making loot revolve around stuff that you might want to display in your home - essentially trophies like you describe. However, when we generated a list of trophies, we thought "this is exactly the type of stuff players would want to make for other players..." And, in fact, we were right - there is a demand for player-crafted decor even now. We want to expand what players can make for decoration, and improve the methods for placing these items, but we need to (say it with me) prioritize our tasks carefully. Adding useful loot is (in my mind at least) higher priority than adding more items to put in houses as decoration.
With all that said, we still like the idea of there being uncraftable trophies (or even wearables) that you can display: you complete a mission for Leia, and she gives you a medal or a Rebel flag for your living room. Or, you kill Dathomir's giant spider and get a large pincer to put on your mantle. These types of rewards are still on our list to add."
The Noble at the Rebel outpost on Rori gives out these and at one point you deliver a wooden bowl that you can keep or you end up getting it as a reward on the next mission.
Going to get me a Bantha statue tonight!
I have been decorating people's houses for them, and the question has come to me a few times now.
Where are the quests to run to collect the various reward items?
I am referring to the woven baskets, the decorative shishas, bantha statues, decorative bowls, decorative drinking glasses, loud speakers, statues in general, etc etc.
Does anyone know?
=)
WhiteSaber,
In what general direction from Anchorhead is this guy? How far?
he's "under the bridge downtown" hehe... had to do that. Seriously, someone already posted teh WP, though he's so easy to find it's not really nesissary. He's in the middle of Anchorhead in the trench that the bridge was made to cross, can't miss him.
Take it sleezy
