Thread: Using Advanced components

Question is:

Is using the advanced components worth the time/money spent to get the resources needed to make them?

For instance, lets say you make the disease C pack. How much will I beneifit by using the Advanced Liquid Suspension Controller and the Advanced Bio Effect Controller? Is it worth it to spend the extra money on them to get the resources to make them?

With petrofuel in short supply and really expensive and with no harvesters/farmers of my own, is it worth it? What differences would be most noticiable if I used the advanced components? I have the stuff to make the normal bio effect controller, etc. Everyones got the stuff needed to make them.

I'd say it is definitely worth using the advanced components. A bad advanced component is still better than a good normal one.

What stats are you getting on regular components with good quality materials? I can currently make ABEC's with 11power / 23 charges and ALS's with 177 power.

Don't really know off hand, I just make them and use them lol

I know i know, I probably should be paying closer attention to what it is, but I just am too impatient to look at that stuff (ie.ADHD)

I'm wondering if it's worth it, sounds like it might be?

For cures, rez packs, and all the things that have a sort of "work or not work" effect, i.e. do not have a variable effect like heals and buffs, it really dosen't matter what you use. The only effect will be the number of charges you get out of each pack.

When it comes to things that you care about the Power of, ONLY use adv comps. You are killing yourself with the basic compsif you care at all about quality. They make a huge difference.

For me the only thing I would use a regular instead of an advanced componet would be CRDM's and then only for stim B's that I sell because I can get 350 power with a 19 power CRDM.

For all others I use advanced paks. I will NEVER use a regular BEC instead of an ABEC. Man I can't keep enough of those things around.

I'm very sorry if this has been covered, I have used the search feature, and browsed through 3 cups of coffee.

This isregarding Advanced components. Is there a baseline or let's say a max value in charges/power that the components can have? Assuming the use of perfet resources, for the sake of simplicity, what would the charges/power be on the Doctors advanced Components? Hpe the question makes sense, I'm just trying to get a feel for what is a good component, and how good they can get.

Jara using 100 quality ingredients, the Adv SDS would be 75 and the ALS 200

I don't know offhand the cap on an ABEC or ACDRM would be.

The max for ASDS's and ACRDM's is 75 with all 1000 quality ingredients (good luck there...). ALS's with perfect resources cap at 200, and the ABEC's max at 15/25 (or vice versa if you go power high for some reason).

To your question, Digitarius, the answer is hell yes they are worth it. Even if youmake average Adv components, you will significantly improve your results over using even perfect non-advanced components.

Also, the rating on Poison and Disease cures will matter as of Publish 7, so consider making those with decent ingredients. Now I can use a Cure B and never need to use more than 1 charge per person, that may change since I used mediocre components when I made the packs forever ago.I don't know if state heal packs will be affected (blind/dizzy/stun), but I doubt they will matter what ingredients they are made with.

Thanks Red, are these values you just know off hand, or is there an actual formula for determining this information? I realize so many factors are used in determining the specs of any certain crafting session. But I just assume ( yeah I know very risky) that there is actualy some form of formula in determining values of crafted gods. Also assuming always using 1000 rating in any and all given attribute that are taken into consideration on crafting for the sake of simplicity.

hmm cant seem to figure out how to edit... Red when you said 100, did you mean 100%, or 100 as in 100 OQ?
