I did cm to go with rifleman... got bored of rilfeman dropped it and then took up doc as a guild doc retired, using cm to grind it (insanely quickly btw
) and hence I have cm + doc, I was going to drop combat medic but im starting to see the virtues of the two professions together and im liking it more and more
SO I just wondered how many more cm+doc's there are, I know of 3 on chimera so there are likely to be a few hehe.
What do u spend your other skillpoints on too? I'm thinking either scout to help out collecting resources or rifles 1-4 for the mind hits when im left alone with only combat medic to defend me...

Why waste the skillpoints in rifle? You'd do more damage with your CM mind poisons and disease. I would suggest you go with the novice scout option so you can harvest resources when you go group hunting.
If your looking to do good PvE damage, goKrayt hunting with a groupand hope you get some nice tissues. You can get a ~350 damage republic blaster with nice tissues, which requires no skill.
CM is worthless unless your grouping a lot. Doc + CM is not a good solo combo, as the advantages of CM wear thin without a group, yet that shouldn't be a problem if you hunt with your guild

Combat Medic is essentially a PvP profession. With buffs and armor what they are, very few people/groups need CMs while hunting (unless you count Mind Heals which have debatable usefulness)
As a pure PvP combo, MCM and MD is a good pairing. You can throw some nasty spider venom poisons/diseases and as a MD you can do state heals and antidotes. I sense a PvP CM nerf coming, but we'll see.
Back when I was a MCM/MD, I had pistol IV as my other skills. It's the best marksman profession in the lower tier (especially with a good Geo pistol for PvP).

I made a post in the CM forums, someone there was asking the same thing...

Same template I use presently...

i did MCM / MD for a lil while, but it got to be too many resources to keep track of.
i enjoyed both profession immensely, i sided with Doc and not negate the realm of self buffage, poison / disease and state heals.
with fire blankets coming, it should add a bit something more to the profession.
I personally would like to see some AoE poison / disease removal stims. its really a pain, to have to a group member or someone within 6m to cure the poison or 15m to do states. CM's are able to do it, so it needs to be some flipside to it. Redundant if you ask me, the CM can poison the group and then everyone flocks to the doc to get healed... your still a PRIME target for CM's. nothing better than a bundled up group. this is all of course for PvP.

I'm a Master Doc/Master CM and love it. I was using my remaining SP for Pistol 4 but after reading that the RB was going to be moved to Novice Pistoleer, I changed to carbines. I have found that I'm much more effective in PVE with carbines, though I still can't do much solo. My buffs take care of the high HAM costs, and carbines do pretty good damage. I can afford to use the SP for weapon skills because my guild supports me with animal resources and I have a second account to do my surveying.
In group PVE I'm a very valuable support character. I often go hunting with a Commando, a TKM and whatever guild members want to join us. Even that small group can take on some very high level mobs, though I do end up with a good amount of mind wounds at times.
In PVP, I can either be the anti-CM (targeting the other side's combat medics with my poisons and diseases to take them out of the fight), the typical offensive CM, or a dedicated healer (curing and rezing groupmates). Having no defense mods makes me an easy kill, so I need my group to protect me. I have found that I have the easiest time dealing with other CMs. I can cure away their best attacks while my poisons just keep ticking.

Love it, been full medic since I started. Pistol 4 is what I spent my points on.
