Thread: Can Buffs Kill You??

I've been playing this game for a long time, but a dispute with a CSR leads me to believe that I may have overlooked the dangers of buffs.
The situation was that I had reaosnably good buffs. The secondaries wore off. Then, about 20 minutes later, the Health Buff wore off. I normally have 1000 max Health, and with the buff I had about 2800, but I was wounded down to about 800 when the buff timer ran out. No mobs were nearby, though I did just come off a Neutron Pixie Downer about two minutes prior.
As the buff wore off my health plummeted and I was incapped. Then a moment later Istood up and was incapped. Then, a moment later, it happened again and I died.
The CSR informs me that so long as my health was below 1800, losing buffs means certain death. For the life of me, if that is the mechanic then I have no idea how I never noticed it. As running around in effectiveness sliced composite once the buffs to my secondaries goes away, my primaries always hang at reasonably low levels. Moreover, I frequently charge into fights in the waning moments of my buffs...
Is the CSR correct?
Sounds like the server didn't think your pixie downer had worn off yet..or...
If I read it right, the game should have thought you had 200 health (1000 - 800 wounds) after the buffs ran out.
The buff should remove itself without afecting your base scores, unless you had damage (not wounds).
When people have big buffs they sometimes don't notice damage. Sicne your secondaries wore of first, the damage would not have regenerated very fast.
If you had 400 health damage (more then your remaining 200 health), you would have been incapped... and while incapped, your health would not have regenerated ... incap timer ends... and bam, you still have -200 health... rinse, repeat.. 3 incap death.
This is the only other way I can think of it happening.

Can you clarify what you meant when you said that you were wounded down to about 800? Game logic is supposed to prevent you from having more wounds than your base stats. When I was going up the Dancer tree, I would use my alt character to sample radioactives for mind wounds. For this example, say her max mind was 1000. While she was sampling, the maximum amount of wounds she would be able to get was 999. However, I did have to be careful because sampling also used the mind points, so I could fall into a scenario would I would incap the alt character by taking wounds and using action at the same time that equaled more than the amount of blue bar thatshe had left. I could eliminate that by giving the primary stat a buff, so there would be a small buffer for these instances. One time I incapped her and the timer was for something like 1.6 years. lol
This doesn't really help to explain what you experienced, but I'm curious if there's a bug that's allowing players to accrue more wounds than they should... or if the game logic changed.
My fault, it was late and I was tired I should have said I was "damaged" down to 800, not wounded. I had aboutno Health "wounds" at the time this happened.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't care about the death...but the toon that did the dying does care, and would prefer I not let this happen again.
From what I am reading though, if I had 2800 max Health, and had less than 1800current Health when the buff wore off, that would mean an incap (and quite possibly death)? Would it always result in a death, or was I just unlucky?
Thanks for everyone's attention.
so if you had 1000 basehealth and had 1001 damage when the buff wore off, you would have this incap problem. But you said you only had 800 damage, so you should have had 200 left.
