hi, I have just started working towards Dr. and am shocked as to how much people sell the resorces needed for buff packs! is it possible to make a profit from selling buffs? I dont see how you could harvest all the resorces yourself so you must have to buy them.

profit isnt my prime reason for becoming a doc, but i need to find some sorce of income in this game, and i have no artisan skills!!!

please help

You cannot make good money selling buffs. Applying buffs earns you sick money (250k+ with one set).

Personally, I started out gathering what I needed to make a few full sets of decient buffs (850+ power is considered very good, so I guess 700+ is decient). Once you have a few full sets of buffs, put up your Master Doctor title and head to Coronet. One hour later, put your 500K in the bank and keep an eye out for REALLY good resources that are for sale - as money is no longer a limiting factor.

Except for the meat, I (& most others I think you'll find) do harvest all the resources ourselves, so buffing is fairly profitable - tho it's a royal pain in the proverbial. I reckon I can make about 100k profit in an evening, buffing - but whether I'll do it is another matter.

If you're going to be buffing regularly, for more than yourself & a couple of mates, then you need surveying, & a fleet of harvs, otherwise you will have to pay (thru the nose probably) for a lot of resouces, &, just as importantly you'll probably have difficulty finding any hi quality ones for sale as well.

If they're sold on your server, you might consider buying the ready made packs instead ... if you don't have surveying, you may well have scout (?), maybe you could negotiate a deal with a crafting doc to supply avian & herb for a reduction at least in buff pack prices.

On Bria there is no profit at the moment...

With the meats selling at 60-200 cpu, and the lack of good resource shifts on the ingredents for the Advanced components you need to buy most resources to make decent packs.

Your best bet is to wait. Pick up all 4 survey skills in artisan and when good resources pop up, drop 10 harvesters down and stock up.

The reactive gas is actually decent right now, so get yourself some gas miners and start collecting. I wish I would have stocked up on resources before I went Master, but oh well.

Good luck though, it's a great profession to be in.

The only resources exspensive on my server is Avian meat and Herbivore meat. The rest isn't at all the meats like Avian go for 50-60 cpu for the best stuff and Herbivore goes for 10-25. I make uber profit, if i make a set of buffs with all my resources it might cost me 10k or so. I charge 8k and these have base poer ranging fromm 830 to 890, in less than 30 min i can eaisly use all my buffs and make 200k or more depending how bad a person wants it.

The economy on every surver is somewhat different.

On Flurry I can (and have many times) walked in to Coronet with 2k in my pocket and walked out with close to a mil. I let folks tip what they think is fare so its not that I am jacking up the price.

I dont have any survey skills and never have. Meat (avian) is so much harder to get than anything else I recommend scout skills instead. To survey without survey skills take a look a the web site for resouces on your surver. When you see a great resouces ride around and find 20 or so other harvestors then plop down your personal harvestor down right next to them. If things look good then drop down your big boys.

The real cost of buffing is sitting around coronet when you could be doing something fun. The other main cost is gathering/crafting resouces. The cost of the resouces itself is but a small cost in the grand schem of things.

Most docs I know make money off buffs or Stim b's. Take your choice or do a little of both.

I beg to differ...

I make money selling buffs AND applying buffs.

What I did was collect resources as I grinded to Doctor, as well as buying my factories and everything early. I also befriended a Master Doctor and had him make me a few crates of 10 sets of 820+ buffs thatI could use while I manufactured my own.

Apretty steep initial investment, but worth it in my opinion.
