I recall reading that there is a way for a M. Tailor to tell what kind of schematic the crafting apron is when they look at it. Can anyone tell me what to look for? How do they know what kind it is before the make it?

they find out what kind it is when they "learn" that schematic.

think theres only one way to know a schematic without using it, if they already know the schematic, i beleive they get a message telling you already have the "medic crafting apron" or what ever the apron is. Other than that as the other guy said, usually you can only know by the tailor learning it.
