Thread: End of Buff-Bots?

I'm not a Doctor, but I was curious about your thoughts on this.

With the ability to "replace" buffs in Pub7 coming in, What's going to happen to Buff Bots? If these re-buffs still consume materials when they apply a worse buff, then I can see alot of people draining docs dry.

Was this kinda the point? What does the Doc community think about "Buff-Bots" ?

It's someone running a macro on a doctor that will buff people while the doc is AFK.

As to the impact, If it allows rebuffs with the same pack, then this will most likely kill all buff-bots. Not that that is a bad thing in my opinion...

On Radiant, some docs have taken to AFK-macro'ing buffs.

They stay in a house, with a 10k entry fee on the door. You walk into the house (paying the 10k), and invite the doc to your group. He then automatically buffs all 6 stats, and leaves the group. It's remarkably convenient to players, and an easy way for the Doc to make money while AFK.

You can find the macro here

There's not going to be any variability any more so the buff bot isn't going to be buffing over his own buffs because they can't be any better than the ones he just applied.

Well, I figured that attempting to buff over it would still consume the enhance packs.

I just checked the notes and it says they'll replace EQUAL buffs so either way the buff bot will continually rebuff over its own buffs.

"Buff bot" is a long-standing term that predates SWG. It traditionally means a second account with a buffing profession on it, that you use to buff your main character.
