Thread: +25 vs +80 Average Buff Higher? Devs?

My first bio clothing suit was +25 pants, +17 shirt, and +17 jacket. I haven't used it in a while since I lost part of it from living on a server boundry, but the shirt magically came back a month later. I've since used it and I think my average was higher, but it's hard to tell as I still get 1500 buffs occasionally and 900 buffs once in a blue moon.

After reading TH's statement on the +25 max, I've since used a +25 smock for inventory space while I PvP. Using 833/860 power packs, I find that I can break 3000 more often then when I had <800 packs (without Janta Blood). These are currently some of the best packs on Intrepid, as only a couple of us have broken 900 base with the resources on our server (unfortunately I haven't been a Doctor long enough to have a big enough stash of all the old resources)

Since I started buffing over 3000 with my new packs, another doctor said he had +80 and while the max buff wasn't higher, the average was. I wanted to look into this before spending 125k on a new +80 outfit. So if you could answer the following questions and offer any speculation on the issue it would be helpful.

Variables: You're a MASTER DOCTOR outside a building with a charged 110 med rating droid

1) What's the total + Injury Treatment on the clothing skill mods you use when buffing?

+25

2) What is the base enhance on your D packs?

860

3) What's your average buff on a day-to-day basis?

2500

Yes I'm probably lucky but I've learned a lot about the profession. I can't hit 2500 all the time but I have broken 3000 a lot more with 860 base packs. So any answers and speculation would be appreciated.

At eighty, I think what I shall regret are the things I always wanted to do and never did; the experiences I denied myself because I was too concerned about others opinions or too anxious for their approval but what I think I would regret most is a life wasted living as a person who was not me. this is somthing i saw on a very random site. i cant remember which one so im paraphrasing. basically, your buffs arent completely dependant upon the BE clothes and effectiveness of the packs. apparently, yourdaily (sign on to sign off)average buffs factor in as well. For example... your first buff from sign on is usually below par. this is because (as stated elsewhere) the server is trying to determine where your buffs should be. the second set you do is typically vastly superior to the first. now that the server has some numbers to work with (basically the first 2 test your boundaries) your buffs will begin to average out. My guess is that the other doc was saying that his average was better simply because he had been buffing for quite some time on that particular day. Can anyone validate what i have just said or possibly provide the link to the site where i got this?

Personally I have more than +25 on, but I see no difference between my average on whether I have 25 or 80 enhancements. I hav etested it over time. From what I have seen 25 is in fact the cap and no difference if you have more.

I heard about that to, but I don't think its true. I spentabout 7 hours buffing last night with no change to my average to my buffs over that time.

Health ~1.1k
Con ~1.8k
Str ~2.3k

Action ~2.4k
Qck~1.2k
Stm ~1.1k

For a total average of 1650. Thi is with all my packs at 913 Base. I ended up using about 200 of each buff to get this data. It was a painful task, but I think my data shows that there is a big problem with the buff system right now. Atleast for me.

You seriously believe that they coded the game to give you bad and good first and second buffs on purpose and that those numbers are used in some formula to determine all your subsequent buffs?

haha can't help but to agree w/ JasonK. I mean they can't even get the code for half the professions to work right. *Grin*

You guys might want to give this a try, I found the results to be pretty interesting...
We all know that the a good med droid has a rating of 110. What I did as a test (I have a couple Docs on different servers.) was go out and buy a piece of +15 Injury/Wound clothing. My thinking behind it: What if the extra 10 on that droid actualy counted against these skill mods? When you wore +25, it would truly be a +35, skewing the results. So I bought the clothes for each character and began to test. On one I was using 840 base packs, on the other I was using 786 base packs. Here are the results:
Before this test: (Both characters using +25 skill modded clothing, total of 125 for each and 110 med droid)
Character A -- Base 860 -- Daily averages over a week range from 1900-2700.
Character B -- Base 786 -- Daily averages over a week range from 1400-2300.
The test: (Both characters using +15 skill modded clothing, total of 115 for each and 110 med droid)
Character A -- Base 860 -- Daily averages over a week range from 2300-2800.
Character B -- Base 786 -- Daily averages over a week range from 1700-2500.
Conclusions:
From my testing over the last month, it appears that there IS in fact some skill bonus based off the 110 rating of droids. I was able to buff higher and with much more consistancy than with my previous setup, even when using the lower base packs. I will continue to experiment with this more since a single month is hardly enough to call it a case and close it. I encourage anyone else who is interested in this issue to attempt the same experiment and report on the results.
Remember, I was using the exact same packs for each character in the tests. They were from factory crates that I had ordered to all have same stats as well, since I and my customers hate to have a buff stick longer than the rest.

This is very interesting, but your ONLY flaw is assuming the game has bad code in it. Now we all know that is not possible.

Cool answers, but they're based more on speculation then concrete testing. I'd like to prove this doctor wrong but we really need an official dev statement on it, and the only one we've had is that +25 is the max for any buffing bonus or skill mod. What I'm after, is if +80 helps the average buff or not.

The official line is that +25 is the max... anything else does not help (in clothes).

It is not clear if the +10% from a 110 rated droid stacks with the +25 or not.

It is looking like this issue will make the 10 questiosn list, because ther are so many modifiers to skills from so many directionsm, it is hard to know what stacks.

I think it doesn't matter. That being said, most of the people who have 70+ wound treatment in clothes got them all at once so can't say the difference between that and 25 unfortunately.
