Thread: Buffs and Logging out, or LD.

I am sure this subject as been touched but I just couldn't find it. Does anyone else believe that if you go LD or have to reset your computer from a glitch that you should maintain the buff you paid for? My computer froze after getting a buff only to log back on and find that it wasn't there. Just a thought.

I've had my system crash and require a full reboot and still had my buffs when I logged in. I wonder what causes otherwise...

Not entirely sure... but I suspect that buffs have a fixed time attached to them that is not changed by whether you are online or off, e.g. If you buff your character with 2 hour 30 minute duration buffs at 3:00pm PST, your buffs will run out at 5:30pm PST, whether you LDed right away or played that whole time.
At least, that's how they've always worked for me.. LDing only kills my Doctor buffs if I stay off for a few hours. If I log right back in, they'll still be there, and I know I've LDed for a half an hour and still had them. This should be easier to test with the new buff counters, but I've noticed they aren't 100% accurate on expirationtimes.
Has anyone else had a different experience?

takes about 15-30 minutes for buffs to go away if you ld right away, do all the time when I get low buff rolls on my jedi

I just went LD a few minutes ago, logged back on to find the buffs that i just payed 10k for were gone. I know for a fact it didnt take me more than10 minutes to get back on too. This is just BS and need to be fixed.
