I've a question for you docs out there. I was in the Bio-labs this evening with my guild. I am a master doc/novice combat medic. Generally, my rule is if I'm in a group, I'm not healing/rezzing outside the group as 90% of the time, I'm the only doc in the group and I have about 10 or more folks to keep alive. I also don't heal pets unless they are the only type of melee we have as I feel players are more important to keep alive.

While in the Bio-labs, I was getting "rez/heal me/my pet" spam. Now, I ignored it for the most part, but since I wasbusily trying to keep my group alive, I finally had to shout "If you are not in my group, I'm not healing/rezzing you!". I consider spamming rude

. How do you guys handle the spammers other than ignoring them?

I think its a good thing, The players need a way to contact doctors to ask for services. Tells is the best way in game so far.

If you got your tag on or are searchable you should expect it. Consider a master doc tag as advertising yourservices. Thats why my tag ses Novice Entertainer : )

But i dont blame you for wanting to have the master, i was proud of mine wen i got it...but the tells are a bit much. The people telling you dont know how many people already asked you they just would like a hand...Most of them are nice and all. If its the same 1337 guy than just /addignore..

If you are going to have your Doc tag up then expect the Tell's.

Make a macro that says "/reply Sorry, I cant right now" or something to the effect. Or edit your AFK to say what you want.

Dont be shy about stating that tips are nice. Cloning there is a pain (long bike ride, costs for insurance, decay, etc). As a result folks are more than willing to tip. Add your price to your /reply macro. For example,

"/reply I will rez you but the cost is 2k, tell me where you are and be sure to /consent to me. If I die rezing you because you have not consented then you will get my bonny finger of shame pointed at you"

The 2k is very cheap considering the alternatives. Only experienced players with lots of cash will be in the cave anyway.

As for the pet healing.... Let them by their own pet stims.

I always have my battlemaster tag on for that very reason. Otherwise put up an afk "sorry, i'm hunting right now and not able to buff or rez you" That shuts most of em up

I also have a couple of macros I use for similar reasons....

1) /rI am sorry, I am currently unavailable for medical services.

2) /r Yes, I am buffing under the arch between the starport and bank

3) /r Please tip me 1 credit per point buffed as we go.

Number 1 I rarely have to use, as I take my Master tag off if I am not buffing the public. That leaves only the people that have added me to /friends (a lot of people like my buffs... what can you do?)

Number 2 I usually have to hit 5 - 10 times every time a shuttle lands in response to the standard, "Are you buffing" tell.

Number 3 is invariably the next macro I hit after the response from number 2, "how much".

I run a smooth queue and get tons of complements on a well run business and quality buffs.... that is my favorate part of the game.

Do u wear ur doc tag?? just a question... heh... I generally keep mine off.. that helps a lot...but... its not 100%... sometimes... u just gotta suck it up and ignore...

... or charge a huge ammount to make it worth it.. heh

It depends greatly on wether or not they say, 'please'.

I have often seen people run into a med center then start yelling 'HEAL ME!'. I usualy ignore them.

Now if someone say's please.. well that's a whole nother ball game.

lol, the only time I have my tag on is when I am buffing. Otherwise it's tell hell.

Note to self: Next time, take the title off ! I've also made myself /anon and that has greatly helped reduce the amount of spam. I don't mind buffing/rezzing if they say "please" or if I'm not running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to keep my party healed. I'm just going to continue what I have done and ignore the spammers (that's what the /ignore list is for!),

I was out there the first night the cave was open, went by myself to check it out, but happened to get killed during a fit of lag. I searched for MD's in the area and found two. I happened to recognize both names as Rebels (which I also am) and so I sent each of them a /tell asking if they could spare a minute to rez a fellow Rebel/Doc and that I would pay them 10k to do so. One replied fairly snidely the other didn't reply at all. So I cloned.

I don't always have time to help everyone, but I'd at least do what I could for a fellow faction member/doctor.

PS-anytime I pm someone for any reason, if they don't respond to my first pm I simply shrug and say "ok" to myself. I never "spam" them with /tells.
