Thread: Looks like we get our On Fire! cure

The publish 7 notes mention "Fire Blankets". Craftable by docs, useable by docs. Your thoughts?

Personally, I think they should be fire extinguishers rather than blankets. Seeing that a blanket is essentially a wearable, it doesn't make sense to us docs who strictly use food/chem tools. Some sort of canister with charges seems more relevant to me.

Good to hear. I guess the Commandos will regard this as a nerf. It also adds yet another responsibility to Doctor, which is going to make life even more difficult in the middle of a big PvP battle.

Sure I'll put out your fire! Rightafter I cure poison, disease, dizzy and throw a heal, two rezzes, a rebuff and a drag. And there's a delay on each!

That's the reason it isn't in medic. Every other guy has novice medic... even putting it 2 boxes into medic would make it a very common cure and effectively kill the FT (which will be rebalanced like all other guns).

There may at some point be severa lother fire cures, but probably not for a while if ever. Fire is a state, so we got the cure in preference to other possible items/professions.

Us being so busy in combat is the trade off that makes FTs remain useful, but cureable. Much like poisons and diseases, we'll have single target cure, and a possible cone of people to cure (which is less then AOE).

I thought it'd be cool to add to droids...Fire extingusher.

But I'm happy with it beind a doc ability.

Droid extinguishers is a possibility, but they need to write AI code to get the droids to use it. Much harder to do then this item.

What would be the issue with placing it at Master Medic? Spread the love, as it were....

Lol, I snuck in and posted in your CM thread like this one.

I don't personally have a problem with master medic.

It would possibly double the avialability of the cure though. If any of the other cures ever make it in, Commandoes will be hurting... Especially after the FT gets rebalanced.

I think the devs stuck to the idea "A state is a state is a state, and doc cures states." The level that this is in DOc is not announced, if it were Novice doc, then MM drop would nto be a great bif deal.. if it is a box III or III cure (like disease), then it would be a hard case to make for MM.

If it's low-level in Doc, a box up in any tree, then it should be dropped to MM so that all Medical Professionals get a taste of it. Or, at the least, once the combat revamp is done and things are rebalanced, a new CM cure for fire should be implemented.

Im curious as to how much mind it drains per use. Is this something that might end up like quick heal...where its more damaging than it is useful?

Quite possible. The only way to truly know and balance it before it hits Live is to get on TC and test it out. Which I'll gladly do when it gets there

Sounds cool, but can we get a fire fighter hat to go with them?

Don't even need nething to put out the fires except for water. Let them get an incapp from the flame, don't let them get dbed, and drag them right next to some water. The best way I can figure out to fight flame.
