Thread: Running like a headless chicken to heal

I've done the rounds over the years and played a Doctor type in most of them and this is the only one where I have to run right next to the person to heal them. How many of you would like to see some range introduced. I can only see one problem in that this conflicts with CM. Just can't get used to this autofollow > heal , I feel like a headless chicken.

Smack your group around a bit.

When I was working on medic and doctor I only followed my groupmates for a second or to, if their ass kept running away from it was their death, not mine.

Also, why not look at going CM if you want ranged heals ?

True, good point. I guess I was just making a comparison to other games.

Ya I usually wait till they die and politely tell them to stop running so much next time before reviving them. It usually helps though there will always be those that refuse to stay in one place for too long.

Personaly i dont think adding another 5m to our heal range would step on cm's at all and it sure would make things a LOT easyer. Lots of time there is enough latancy that you miss anyway. Maby have the 5m bonus be at novice doc even to make it more special.

I would like to see some range added, but i can see how it would tread all over CM too. I think they should give us Master docs the ability to "drag incap players" from a distance of 40-50m instead of capping it at 30.I use that skill all the time when it comes to people dying or getting incapped. And I too let people know that if there in a bind they should try to run towards me if they need a heal, mainly because I'm a rifleman as well and stay further away from most of the action. I think for the most part, people are willing to do that since I'vealready buffed them and res them when they die.

Personally, I enjoy the thrill of the chase

Tho I find I rarely have to heal, as they're ususally buffed to the nines anyway, so heading fora mind incap.

Never played a ranged weapon type, but I understand they can reduce damage they take by kiting ? As a doc I sometimes have to run, but try to be a bit sensible about it - I run to the nearest brawler type, shout "help", & generally get it. You'll always get the headless chickens tho, which is where my fun comes in - I try to guess where they're headed, be there first, & cast a heal as they run by ... it sometimes works

If you have the ability to lay down decent buffs, you usually won't need to heal much. Just make sure everyone has their substats buffed (at least) and they will usually mind incap first. Unless you're in some really heinous battle, and then everyone is likely gonna die anyway.
