Flame DoT removal items: Flamethrowers have the ability to inflict fire DoT's and currently, the only way to remove that DoT in PvP is to submerse a player avatar in a static body of water. The challenge is that Tatooine has only 1 very small body of water and on the swamp planet of Rori, it is possible for a player to have to run for more than 20 minutes to the nearest body of water. To give players a fair chance against this, Doctor's can now craft Fire Blankets. Fire Blankets will give Doctors the ability to extinguish flame with a /extinguishflame command that will enable the use of the fire blanket. To balance out the Fire Blanket, using the blanket drains the "mind" of the doctor.

Just wondering what everyone thinks of this addition?

The Medic professions have been asking for this for a VERY long time now, and it has been a Top 5 issue. So I think you will find that the majority of Doctors stand very firmly behind seeing this go in.

I agree that restricting the item is kinda silly, but poison/disease cures are the same way. As it is now any Medic with 2/0/0/0 can fix bleeds, but it takes Doc 2/0/0/0 to cure poison and 4/0/0/0 to do disease. Where will this 'fire blanket' come into play? It obviously isn't a skill /cureFire. What's the MU going to be on them? I would hope that they keep it consistant, which would mean only a Master Doctor would be able to /cureFire. On the other hand, if they made it so you don't need a skill, and made it MU5, all I can say is cha-ching!

There will be a / command (/cureflame or something ... it is in the patch notes TH put up). We don't currently know what box it will be in, we've asked.

We'll definitely know when it hits TC... though it may change after it is on TC and tested.
