Thread: Need some medicine buisness startup help please...

I will be a Master Doctor by this weekend and I should be ready to start up my medicine factory right after I master it.


I am going to sell Stims, Wound packs and other medicines that people use and need to purchase on a regular basis. I am also going to make and sell buffs to people at the star ports.


I need to know how to tell what resources make the best medicines, buffs and such. Not just stats, but why you prefer Avian meat over Herb, and Herbivore over Carnivore meat. Why not eggs or other organics?


I need to know how to go about opening up a shop with a vendor, while only having Novice Artisan skills. If this is not possible due to the lack of Artisan skills, then how can I go about selling my medicines and stuff without having my own vendor?


I need to know the cheapest way to get all of this started. What equipment do you suggest starting out with? How much money will I need to start this up?


I need to know what medicines actually sell well. I mean, is it better to make good Stim B's because all of the Novice-medic combatants can use them? Should I stay away from making Stim C's,due to the fact that most people heal themselves at thehalf way mark, and Stim C's would be over kill? Should I even bother with Stim D's or Stim E's?


I need to know what the normal pricing should be on crates of meds and single meds. I do not want to rip anyone off, I just want to supply people with what they need, and to support myself doing it.


I was also wondering how some of you Doctors started your businesses, and if you can can give me some tips and pointers as well.

Its decided by the game, we use herbivore meat over carnivore meat because we have to, the ingredients for the advanced components are herbivore meat, as far as avian over herb, we dont, we have to use both (if you want the advanced component) Eggs are just the same as any organic, they have no specific use to docs as far as i'm aware they are for chefs.

You need buisness 3 for a vendor to sell your own wares i believe, if you dont want to get this, or cannot get this then your only other options are to advertise verbally and sell directly to people in cities and things using the tradewindow, or to rent someone elses vendors. Remember that although its frowned upon and may soon be nerfed, you can atm get a buisness 3, get your vendor and then drop buisness 3 but keep your vendor.

Stim B's are the best way to begin, you will need if you want to make good ones, plenty of Tatooine fibreplast and Lok wild wheat (for the ABEC's) this adds charges to your stims mainly, you can generally get away without using class 4 and herb meat when making your (ACDRM's) instead make regular (CDRM's) and just use some quality basic organic's and chemicals such as fruit and fibreplast. Lastly you need Dantooine berry fruit and talus water vapor for the AdvancedLiquid Suspension's. Make lots of these in a factory then all you will need for the last item is some organic and some inorganic.


As to how much it costs, well it can vary, if you buy all your ingredients from a resource store, it may cost lots, but if you farm your own it could cost more in the beginning but less in the end. Personally i would buy a harvester for every type of resource, you can probbably get small personal ones quite cheaply. But if you have the cash then heavies are a good investment, I started out with the personal ones and worked my way up, go visit your friendly neighbourhood architect.

Personally i would say stick to stim B's and enchance packs, in my experience they sell better than anything else, c's and d's never did sell all that well for me.

Depends on your server, make some stim b's and see what the best thing you can do it, then go to another medic's store and see what their best stim is and what they are charging, then modify yours to suit. Most stim b's sell for around 1-2k depending on how good they are. Crates i just multiply the price, 1500 each? then i sell my crates for 15000 for 10.


I was also wondering how some of you Doctors started your businesses, and if you can can give me some tips and pointers as well.


I started from day 1 as a medic, i did delivery missions and tipsfor my first credits which i bought personal harvesters with, i found some good resources and over time collected large ammounts of them, as i became master doc i started to find i could make things in bulk and did so.I then did master merchant for a holocron so that gave me the opportunity to sell my meds and globally advertise. Stim B's are pretty easy, i made 500 of them easy enough today before work, Enchance packs sell for LOTS more credits and is where i made 90% of my cash but the avian can be a pain to get especially if you are non-combative.


Remember if you need cash and are have the ability to buff you can make easy money by buying buff packs from already established doc's and selling them in cities.
