Thread: My only question: WILL PRE-NERF BUFF CRATES GET LOCKED?!?!
BaudGnarly wrote:Are the devs gonna lock our buff crates that we make now, before the experimentation system change? They did it with the FWG5 and Scatter pistol and didn't even announce it, just locked the containers all of the sudden.
The FWG and scatters were acidentally locked. They fixed them on TC so you can now pull them from the crates. I think our enhance packs will be fine
The schematics for those weapons were changed which is why they were locked because the system didn't know how to create them (or so I hear)
Our schematics are not changing so therefore they should have no problems post patch.
Traigus, I do agree with your theory that nothing will change, but giving the previous change in the crafting process of the enhance pack (fix the experimentation to allow to experiment down med use). The change in the crafting process rendered all pre patch crated enhance packs of 79 med use once pulled from the crate post patch a med use of 92, with the exception of the last pack in the crate which retained it's original 79 med use.
I am a little leery that the pack made before pub 7 will be the same after pub 7 based on previous experience from when the enhance pack crafting process was corrected. Though no changes where made to the schematic it still did effect the pack if the pack was in a crate.
That's the way I see it anyway.

My guess is they cleaned up some of the DB for the old schematics, and were surprised that people ahd hoarded/stockpiled so many that some were still around. It was changed a long time ago after all.
I doubt the same thing will happen in this case.
It is a different kind of crafting change, no components were taken out of the schematic. Indeed the schematic is exactly the same.. it is the crafting system that has changed... at least, this is how I understand it.
With enhances needing avian meat, there is an upper practical limit to how many packs someone can make, let alone store. They will wash out of the economy much faster then guns will.
