Thread: Formal Request to you Zarlor, to bring to the attention of the Devs the buff bug
Specifically the one that happens when you log off or go linkdead then log back in. Your buffs are gone yet the timer remains keeping us from rebuffing.
This would be a minor nuisance if it weren't for the death penalty. This bug has cost me personally 10% on my armor due to suicides to "fix" the bug.
This bug is insanely easy to duplicate by any of you. Buff then logout for 5 minutes.
I ask you to request this be fixed now, or have the insurance reduced from 1% to 0% so that we will not be hurt as much from suiciding.
Ptitioning me doesn't do anything. You have to convince your fellow Doctors that it is imprtant enough to be voted up higher on the list. (I think it's #14 on the current vote.)
I put it in my personal Top 5, #2, I think. BUt it's not up to me to bring my personal agenda to the Devs. I have to bring your agenda and the best way for me to do that is with the votes.
Sorry. It's the only way I can be fair about it. Go look at my Top 10 vote on that thread and see if you agree with those issues? If there are any you don't agree with... well, would you want me pushing a personal issue that you don;t agree with? It's one thing if I push a consensus issue, because we can all see the vote and double-check my results and that's how I try to work it. Just trying to keep it fair for everyone.
THat being said the threads that continually bring these issues up DO keep it on the minds of those voting. I often try to get into a thred to remind folks that if it is an important issue to them to be sure to vote for it. You can always do the same. Start a thread armed with the exact number and encourage folks who agree with the position to be sure "sign the petition" by voting on that issue higher in their lists.
Only thing that shocks me is how it can be #14 on that list... this is the bugg BY FAR that hits me the most often... "/sarcasm on" especially with how stable the client are atm "/sarcasm off"
Come of folks vote for this bugg.... its EVIL for Docs like myself who buff for 3hours + and go linkdead just to come back with timer still active for 2 hours 30 mins more, but no buffs..... not to mention for those poor folks who buy a buff from us...
Maybe I need to change that issue a bit. It primarily states Medical Surveying, but really the heart of the issue is that Docs have a great deal of difficulty getting, affordably, all of the resources they need to make ALL of the different meds taht we make. CMs actually need this even more than we do.
Some from of surveying is only one solution to the problem, and I believe it is primarily listed because it is likely the easiest fix. However, there are other solutions, such as simplification of our schematics by reducing resources used, resource stats used so some levels of quality (such as UT and PE) are not needed opening up more variety of a specific resource to be used, lessening the restrictions on specific types of resource requirements and making them more generalized, letting Medical Forage be the method of getting "components" instead of having to create them, or simplu assuring that Docs have more methods to make more money so they can afford to pay for the resources they need, are all possible solutions or parts of solutions that could be used to look into the situation.
As for why that item is only #14 on the list... this list isn't necessarily the best indicator of the order of the Top 25 because the last voting cycle had 5 seperate categories. There were a lot of instances where someone would come in and only vote on one category or only vote on one issus because they felt that issue was so important they just didn't care enough to look at the other issues and see if those were important as well. In the case of that particular issue ony recently did I change the name to make it more descriptive, so it is quite possible, even likely, that if anyone was only skimming issue names they would have missed this one thnking it meant someone else (which is one of the reasons I greatly encouage folks to read the full issues whenever they can so they have a clear understanding of the issue and can let me know if I'm not being clear or if there might be some other issue they need to start a thread on.)
Oh... well iahve a preliminary, just not completely sorted. Taking a quick look the curent Top 5 appear to be:
- 14
- 2
- 1
- 3
- 5
