Thread: Doc/TKM or Doc/Pistoleer?
Having played Doc/Pistoleer and a Doc/TKM I can say it depends on your playstyle.
For PvE, TKM all the way.
For PvP, Pistoleer.
Doc/Rifleman?
That's what I am shooting for.
Hehe...shooting for.
One more tidbit...For pistoleers if your going that route
There are 3 new Pistols comming out this Thursday, Feb 12.
The first one is a Featherweight FWG5 which will have +5 counter attack/+5 dodge/+5 accuracy.
Second one is a Republic Blaster with DOT with a nasty bleed damage..
Third one is a Geonosain Sonic Blaster that does stun dmg.
To follow up with this good advice then, should I get the FD line from smuggler and some pistoleer or master pistoleer and forget smuggler if I get master doc?
I know there are only so many points but I'm thinking I'll go FD and some pistoleer--speed and melee defense mods maybe?
But most of the doc/pistoleers I've heard of are masters...is there a particular reason other than taste for this?
Master Doctor /any one of the elite combat profession = very good
Been both combos and Pistoleer just didn't seem to do decent amounts of damage to be helpful in PVP. I just ended up rezzing for the most part and trying to stack some bleeds. TKM though allows you to actually get some kills and works well against any class. In a large raid you're going to get your shots at close range people and if you get in a hit or two they're gone. With pistoleer it's hit and miss, mainly miss though b/c of the terrible accuracy.
This might all change though with the Genosian blaster as it has stun damage...but I believe it's a looted schematic so there might not be too many for awhile. Get TK and see if you like it as it doesn't really take that long to get. It's great pve if you're just bored and want to fight some monsters. For my play style I liked TKM more as it was flat out fighting where pistoleer requires a lot of shooting then running if you're in pvp.
If you want to play as a support role, I'd do Pistoleer. My role in hunting parties is to be mobile, stack bleeds, knock down critters that are beating on my friends, and throwing heals.
If you want to do more damage, I'd try TKA. Playing along side my TKA friends, I'd have to say that TKA is quite superior to Pistoleer in damage. I have been bailed out many times by a TKA.
Only problem is, you're going to be in melee range, so you can't be running back and forth to throw heals on your friends with ranged skills.
