Thread: Buffing question: Link Dead avatars
Yes, common practice for me. I can't get multiple instances running for some reason, even though I have a good PC, so I do this quite a bit actually. You just better have a good PC to load the game in on the 2nd buffing account before the first times out of the game and poofs.

I believe that SWG will not allow itself to run more then once on any computer, no matter what your specs. I remember it being mentioned in Beta. I don't remember why exactly.

actually...u can..but u have to either modify a file, or create a different user under windows xp and swtich between the two...i'm not too sure b/c my poor laptop can't handle two at once
here's what i did, found it on the boards some time ago. works like a charm:
Create a file or edit the file in your swg directory called user.cfg and add the following
[SwgClient]
allowMultipleInstances=true
Make sure your txt editor doesn't save the file as user.cfg.txt (use good ol dos to check it)
to start it fire up one instance and get into the world. then alt tab to windows and fire up the second instance.
Alt tab between between the two.
You can configure it to run multiple instances on one computer.

Hey there docs, I did a message search and couldn't come up with an answer to this question:
If a person has two accounts but doesn't have enough power to run two instances of SWG on his or her computer, can that person log out of thecharacter to be buffed, restart the game, log in to the other character (a doctor) and apply buffs to the link-dead avatar? Assume I can do this whole sequence before the LD avatar disappears from the game world.
Thanks!
Before I figured out how to run both accounts on the same computer, I did this. Sometimes it worked....sometimes it didn't, and sometimes my (LD) toon disappeared half way through a buff. It depends on your connection, and the speed of your computer to log into the game.
